Bomb threat empties state power-grid offices -
Published 12:00 am PDT Tuesday, April 17, 2007
Authorities on Monday were investigating two suspicious incidents involving the California Independent System Operator that led to the evacuation of employees from their offices, officials said.
A suspect had been identified but had not yet been arrested, ISO spokeswoman Stephanie McCorkle said Monday night, adding she could not say whether the suspect is an ISO employee.
Power to several ISO computer systems was interrupted late Sunday, McCorkle said, but it did not affect the state's power grid, and all systems were restored by 6 a.m. Monday.
Shortly before noon Monday, the ISO received a "credible physical threat" and promptly evacuated all 500 employees in Folsom, McCorkle said. Operations were transferred to an ISO facility in Alhambra, near Los Angeles.
Folsom police and the FBI were notified. FBI spokeswoman Karen Ernst said the two incidents are being investigated by the agency's Joint Terrorism Task Force.
McCorkle wouldn't elaborate on the nature of the threat other than to say it was via e-mail, but Ernst confirmed it was a bomb threat.
Employees were allowed into the building by 5:30 p.m., after bomb-detecting dogs searched it.
The ISO is the quasi-state agency that runs the state's electricity transmission grid.

This and not a word about the incident that occured Monday morning.
The report I saw about the Sunday incident stated it was an ex employee/contractor who shut down the servers. I serious breach of security.
I love your tagline... Ha Ha ha!!!
“This and not a word about the incident that occured Monday morning.”
Who, what, when and where?
Since 9/11, this is considered an act of terrorism.
So how long will it be before we find out who and what anti American group does hesheit represent?
You silly boy... Grey Out Davis was identified by as the Perp...
California rate payers. Probably the PG&E kind.
Bah! Who needs the grid anyway? I get all the electricity I need from this here outlet!
According to the latest mean green agenda, we now have to choose between energy or water.
Or food or energy.
Or water or food.
What the really mean is that they don’t want us to have any of it.
