I can’t understand how this disturbed individual was able to wound fifty people and kill thirty of them with a handgun. Those of us that shoot handguns know it’s not easy to score a hit on a (presumably) moving target, much less get rounds in the kill zone so many times. Was he trained? Even the police don’t shoot that well.
Did you find that out on your own?
I think we have a new “BUCKHEAD!!”
Sounds like a Quentin Tarantino wannabe. He should’ve gone to UCLA.
It’s funny how some people are so invested in having this perp fit their pre-conceived notions. Many Freepers seem desperate for an Islamic terrorism connection, while over at DU they were praying the guy would be a disgruntled vet who got denied treatment at Walter Reed. I guess “typical psycho” doesn’t satisfy.
“Will it satisfy some personal need you have?” Nicely bated question. My question is based on possible outside influence. So far he looks like a lone nut but anything is possible these days.
nonsporting first mentioned that there was a professor of psychiatry named Ismail AK, and then I took it from there and did the research.
From what I have read, many of the dead and wounded were hit multiple times so it was quantity over quality. I bet he shot most at point blank range while they were cowering on the ground.
The kid was a nutcase, but even now, the PC "protect his privacy" stuff trumps the public's right to know. About 15 years back, I had a guy in class who was similarly frightening. After I learned that he had threatened to butcher some female students while I was out of the room, I went to the dean of students and demanded action. To keep him out of my classroom, I was required to offer him an independent study course on my own time. I did it, of course, and he stayed in school until months later when he brought a gun into the classroom building and began threatening classmates with it. Frankly, I was amazed he was not allowed to kill someone before he was put out of school.
It’s interesting that he had a hatred of Catholics in addition to his other pathologies.
Ismail = Ishmael, the older son of Abraham, who supposedly was the father of all the Arab nations. No idea if that’s what he meant, but it gives one pause.

Everybody knew this guy was a loony-tune, but there's really no legal process in place that could have been used to get him the hell out of the classroom.
Did his plan call for showing up with a gun of his own?
Interesting, thanks for the info on what the Koran says of Ishmael. I didn’t know that.
If this is all true, this University is responsible for not acting on ALL of those signs.
LLS
That’s a great find, though I don’t care as much for the tagline.
They are vile and so are the people who have determined that he MUST be connected to Islam.
Wow, interesting.

OK, I’ve changed it.
why say it at all?
