Airport commissioners insist it's simply a customer-service issue. But many Muslim taxi drivers say it's an unfair new penalty that violates their religious prohibitions against handling alcohol. Both sides agree that the dispute, part of a cultural conflict in the Twin Cities that has already drawn national attention, is probably heading for a court challenge, which in turn could become a national test case.

Driving a cab isn’t a right; it’s a privilege with all sorts of restrictions and requirements which exist with common carriers. If they won’t follow the rules, they should get other jobs.

Fine. Then I’ll refuse to acknowledge Muslims as rational human beings as they violate my right to exist in a free country.

They shouldn’t even be here. They should go back to their home countries.

If they wont follow the rules, they should get other jobs. Amen. Same for pharmacists who won't dispense legal products (birth control pills, emercency contraceptives, etc)

I, for one, wouldn't get into one of their cabs after this. Now they are angry and probably feel that their moon god religion has been insulted and will probably seek vengence. Fire them all and send them home.

Or maybe you know something about the Cabbie Code of Ethics that you can share with us?

Nice try, but youre way off on that one How so? Two occupations where (some) employees refuse to do what's specifically required of the job because of their own personal beliefs.
Explain the difference.

One carries passengers who may possess something objectionable and the other objects to dispensing medication that kills a fetus.
If you can’t see the extreme difference in this then our exchanges will no longer be pleasant.
