Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.) is seeking to become the first woman president, and a man who has published countless pictures of naked women is pitching in for her White House bid.
Hugh Hefner, the founder of the Playboy Enterprises empire, is among the many celebrities who have picked their favorite candidate to succeed President Bush in 2009.
Hefner contributed $2,300 (the maximum allowed in the primary) to Clintons campaign on March 28, identifying his occupation on the fundraiser form as editor-in-chief of Playboy magazine.
Hefner has given thousands to Democrats over the years, including $2,000 to Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.) in 2004 and $1,000 each to Al Gore and then-President Clinton in the 1990s. Hefners favorite on Capitol Hill is Rep. Loretta Sanchez (D-Calif.); he has given her $13,200 since 1996, according to the Center for Responsive Politics.
Sanchez attracted controversy by planning to hold a fundraiser at the Playboy Mansion during the 2000 Democratic National Convention in California.
Other Clinton backers include Chevy Chase, TV personality Jerry Springer, and Barbra Streisand.
Clintons campaign did not return a phone call seeking comment.
An early review of celebrity donations shows that Sen. Barack Obama (D) is grabbing most of the big names in Hollywood. Jennifer Aniston, Morgan Freeman, Tom Hanks, Tobey Maguire, Edward Norton and Ben Stiller have opened their wallet for the junior senator from Illinois.
Dennis Haysbert, the black actor who portrayed the president in the Fox show 24 before his character was assassinated last year, also gave to Obama.
New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson (D) attracted the financial backing of Rob Reiner, while Sen. Chris Dodd (D-Conn.) got Steve Martin, Paul Newman and Saturday Night Live honcho Lorne Michaels. Singer Don Henley and actor/writer Larry David contributed to former Sen. John Edwardss (D-N.C.) war chest.

It was quid pro quo.
HIllary promised not to ever pose naked.
Hefner's got a right to contribute as he pleases, and his money will go to somebody. Would you be as disdainful of it if it were going to a Republican rather than a Democrat?
His reputation may be unsavory to many, including Her Hillaryness, but as long as his money is green, I bet she takes it. And I'll bet most Republicans would, too. It'd take a mighty conservative politician to refuse it.
I'm gonna have to crank up Photoshop... that concept needs visualization. Maybe Hill's face on the body of.... hmmmmmm-mm-mm...
Nah, can't do it. Blasphemy.
“It’d take a mighty conservative politician to refuse it.” Yep, and that’s the guy/gal we want!
you’ll never get it.
Maybe on Rosie or Bella Abzug’s body?
no way in hell I’d take that heathen’s do ray me.Not one red copper penny...
I mean, you wouldn't think!
What will I “never get”, friend?
Gertrude Stein
The conservative who turns down Hef's money.
I was, sadly, about to point out the same thing. I don't see any candidates who are likely to make the nomination, who have the integrity to turn down any money at all, unless the contributor is a convicted criminal.
Well, the man is an expert when it comes to boobs...
Depends on whether you're talking politics, or just a dwelling-place for his Bird. He clearly prefers that his Bird be in a Bush rather than in his Hand. But I'm pretty sure the last time that concept was floating around the Oval Office, it was Slick Willy's place, not GW's.
And fraudulent boobs, generally speaking, too...
I agree, he can donate to whoever he wishes...and it’s no surprise that’d be the democrats. I suspect that there are some less than thrilling individuals who have donated to republicans in the past as well. Now if checks are arriving with Bin Laden’s name let me know.
Hef is not going to like it when Hillary hits on his wife.
Bill is personally flying to the Bunny Ranch to pick up the check. (s)
My understanding is that at the moment, he has three young, buxom, blonde girlfriends. No wife to be found.
Good one!! LOL
LOL! I wonder what else he’ll be picking up!
Hefner said “boobs giveth, and a boob taketh away.”
Trash like Hefner and Jerry Springer contribute to Hillary even as she attacks Don Imus, who has raised more than $40 million for CHARITIES over the years. Another surreal day in a messed up America.
Or Betty Friedan's?!!!!!
How many of us around here remember "Kinky" Betty Friedan being embarrassed at the airport security check when her suitcase spilled open and a bunch of sex toys fell out when she was on her way to attending a feminist event? Hmmmmmm....
He wants her cankles around his neck.
Vaguely... but it all pales compared to Hillary's Strap-On!
(Hey, that sounds like a great name for a punk band...)
Well, Imus wasn’t raising money for the correct charities.

Have Larry Flynt and Al Goldstein made their contributions to Shrillery yet? Shrillery’s leftist politics and effective protection of Bill’s career has been very popular with them, too, we can be sure......
Apparently the Dems did an about-face.
I remember seven years ago, when Hefner offered to make a fundraiser at his mansion for Gore/Lieberman, the Dems publicly turned it down, saying “his magazine contradicts our values.”
Hefner rightly called them hypocrites.
Why would a pornographer give an outspoken feminist money to get elected president? Why would she accept it?
Maybe easy access to abortion isn't as much of a "women's issue" as one hears it claimed.
Well now. Birds of a feather flock together. Apparently dessicated old goats flock to evil sows.
Historical note: the artist who produced the horrid picture of Dorian Grey was the father-in-law of former Sec. of State Madeleine Albright!
How about.............Helen Thomas!!!!!

HILLARY’s Lifetime M.O. =
‘Rule-making for others,
...Rule-breaking for herself’
(Quoting MICHAEL BARONE, U.S. News & World Report Political Columnist-1999)
.
the question is who will get the money from Juggs, Swank and Screw magazines?
I remember reading an article about ten years ago where Al Goldstein said that he’s a pro-gun Republican.
You say that like it's a bad thing. ;)
> You say that like it's a bad thing. ;)
Hardly.
[cough]
“Hugh Hefner gives money to Hillary...”
- - - for a face lift??? or...
((Implants will NOT help her win!))
