I wouldn’t think that waving the Communist Chinese flag will go down well in Italy.

40 euros is a tremendously expensive ticket in a country where an doctors earn 900 euros a month.

Most Chinese don't associate that flag as Communist, but merely the flag of China. Red is the traditional color of the Chinese people. Taiwan's flag is mostly red too. Besides, Italy is more socialist in many ways than China today, there are probably many socialist Italian politicians having wet dreams tonight.

I also wonder what is going on with the apparently fervent feeling for Red China's flag
I think it's just the angle of the camera :-)

There’s no doubt that there has long been a lot of Commies in Italy, but I suspect that there are a lot of patriotic Italians who will object.

I’ve always wondered what the symbolism of the Chinese flag is. There’s one big star and four little yellow stars in an arc around the big star. I know for sure there isn’t an official interpretation of the flag. But it does feel awfully colonialistic, don’t you think? One might imagine the little stars as the overseas Chinese communities in Taiwan, Singapore, the US, New Zealand etc.
China’s rise in the last 15 years is primarily achieved through the aid of its overseas communities in HK, Taiwan and the US. It is said that the combined GNP of the 70 million overseas Chinese would make it one of the world’s top ten economies.

I will go to my grave never understanding the brain of an immigrant waving the flag of their old country in their adopted country. It's insane that immigrants carrying foreign flags are not immediately deported.....just snap a pic of them for proof, throw them in a van and drive them directly to the border.

This is a very strange story. There are overseas Chinese minorities all over the world, and I never recall hearing about them rioting in the US, Japan, Britain, Malaysia, the Philippines, etc. (They were sometimes victims of organized attacks by whites in the 1800s US.)
It almost makes me wonder if they've seen the example of other minorities in France and elsewhere, and taken a lesson from it.
I am keeping a list of the increasing tide of interethnic rioting and mayhem in Europe, and will definitely add this to the list.

Boot their butts back to China before it is too late!
They have no interest in assimilating or becoming Italian.

"Or egg lorr." We're both right!
My spelling was from Northern China while yours was from Southern China.

Stories like this make me appreciate the USA even more.
Europe, for all its preferred modes of condescension and moral superiority toward the USA, has never been able to assimilate immigrants successfully.
