SAN DIEGO, (AP) -- Congressional hopeful and Marine reservist Duncan Duane Hunter has been recalled to active duty, but he says going to war won't interfere with his political aspirations.
Hunter, 30, is running for the seat now held by his father, 14-term U.S. Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-Alpine, a conservative who is the ranking Republican on the House Armed Services Committee. The elder Hunter, who is making a long-shot presidential bid, has said he will leave politics if he does not win the Republican nomination.
It will be the third deployment for the younger Hunter, who joined the Marines in 2002 and is now an artillery captain. He served in Baghdad in 2003 and in the first battle of Fallujah in 2004. He was unsure where he'd be sent this time, but said most likely it would be back to Iraq.
Hunter is one of about 1,800 reservists the Marine Corps recently recalled to active duty, citing a shortage of volunteers to fill some jobs in Iraq.

WOW.
Hope he hasn’t any (horrors of horrors) tattoos. Also hope he never has to engage the enemy because then the gutless generals, JAGs and NCIS investigators will hang him out to dry for defending himself.
Good luck and God Bless You, Capt. Hunter. With the cowardly goobers now in charge of this fight, there is as much danger from the rear as there is from the front.
Happy Hunting, Hunter!
Ping
The United States MUST remember that if we don’t fight them there, we will fight them here. Men such as Hunter is what it is all about....
Right now on John Gibson on FOX he will be interviewing Duncan Hunter, the son in the Marines

I saw the interview. What a classy, smart, honest young man.
there is something credible about a candidate (i.e. duncan hunter) who has his son going off to iraq to fight! i’d give my vote to hunter, if i were an american.
Well, dang!! I wish you were an American, we need more like you!
NZ is also doing their part in the WOT
10 posts and no one has blamed Bush or Rove. New record.
(just kidding, of course. Maybe.)
That’s US cities, by the way.
A shame that, according to DOD regulations, a soldier on active duty can’t hold or run for an elective office.

Are you sure about that - he’s been saying all day he is still running.
If we as a nation are to take this war seriously, I'm afraid it will have to come here. Although, even then, who knows, after all we have been invaded and occupied by some 12 million plus wetbacks and they have more representation and friends in Congress than I do.
Yeah, if we don’t fight ‘them’ over there we’ll end up being invaded by 15-20 million illegal aliens trying to takeover our country.....uh, wait a minute..never mind.
