Sheryl Crow starts global warming tour

DALLAS (Reuters) - Singer Sheryl Crow began a bus tour of U.S. colleges to raise awareness about global warming on Monday, one of several high-profile celebrities to take up the cause of climate change.

Crow, a Grammy award winning singer/songwriter, will speak about the issue and sing at the college stops.

"I am here because the more I learn about global warming the more I feel compelled to do something in my own way whatever that is," she told reporters at Southern Methodist University in Dallas as the tour began.

Accompanied by global warming activist Laurie David, Crow is traveling in a biodiesel-powered bus to university campuses with a final stop in Washington for Earth Day on April 22.

Texas was chosen as the starting point because it leads all U.S. states in fossil fuel emissions, with its heavy industry and love affair with big pick-up trucks.

Other celebrities such as Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert Redford and Daryl Hannah have joined the campaign to reduce fossil fuel emissions and curb climate change.

Former Vice President Al Gore has helped make the issue fashionable with his Oscar-winning documentary "An Inconvenient Truth," which David produced.

It’s biodiesel. Biodiesel carbon emissions apparently don’t count, because, like, y’know, man, it makes the wackos feeeeeeeel good.

Besides, she probably bought a carbon credit—some family in Bangladesh can’t cook or eat or breathe for two years so she can run her bus.

You know, biodiesel could have some appeal, if marketed right. I’d love to say, “my biodiesel car runs 40 miles per Liberal”.

Ms. Crow, if you feel compelled to do something, might I suggest going on with your life, for in a few years we may hear screaming about global cooling again, and then what are you going to do with all those “Fight Global Warming” t-shirts?

Over one hundred years of cars, almost 200 years since the start of the industrial revolution and guess what? The CO2 amount that makes up the earths atmosphere is still at 0.0383% which you can literally read as ZERO POINT ZERO.

I am so fed up to here with the global warming idiots..... I can’t even get an accurate prediction of Thursday’s weather for my company golf outing, yet these nutcases seem to think they know what the ‘climate’ will be thirty years from now!
