In nearly every locale that Al Ghoul has been scheduled to give his global warming dog & pony show, they’ve usually had to cancel the event due to inclement winter weather.
Al should take the hint.
Vanity Fair should just let the folks at Charmin make them a wholly owned subsidiary and work on making their pages softer.
Try the veal. Thank you, thank you very much.
I know this story is anecdotal. But it’s telling, at least as I’d argue.
A repair fellow was at my home and was standing by as I was writing a check for his services. On the TV up pops a story on Fox news about some country charging people a fee for cooking on their grill. The repair fellow hears this and does some soft cussing or some such at the ludicrousness of this nonsense. I just chuckle and say “global warming don’t you know”.
So the repair fellow rocks on the balls of his feet, obviously thinking. I don’t think he knew if I was joking or not so he approached his next thought cautiously.
“You know, I really don’t believe in that global warming stuff,” he said.
I chuckled and told him to hang onto that good common sense of his. He responded with a self-concious chuckle himself. Heh. I’m thinking he wasn’t sure if I wasn’t some lamebrain liberal and was cautious in expressing his doubts.
So that’s my point. The average joe just ain’t going to buy any of this. And go on, start taxing people for BARBECUING FOOD and well, maybe some people will be fooled.
The idiots maybe.
Hey now, we can’t have members of the American nomenklatura like Graydon flying commercial to the Oscars, can we? Or Annie Leibovitz flying commercial to Germany to photograph baby polar bear Knut in aid of the global warming scare/scam/mythology promoted by VF?
Don’t criticize your “betters” and their much-needed private aircraft, sir.
/sarcasm off
The belief that man-made global warming has`nt become a religion. Nah.
you think THAT was cold?? it was so cold here in virginia I saw a lawyer with his hands in his OWN pockets..
Some ugly looking women there....yuck!
What will all of these magazines, Time, Sports Illustrated, etc., do once it becomes obvious that GW is not going to destroy the world? Oh, that’s right, the same thing they did back when they were predicting an oncoming ice age - just drop it.
Let the enviro-left’s salem witch trials begin!
I used to work with this hippy idiot who got all of his political information from Rolling Stone!
Kind of like Islam.
We had 4 inches of snow on April 7 Saturday. This is in Central Texas and the weight of the snow caused one of my trees to fall. So much for Global Warming in Texas.
I shall burn the tree and let slip the dogs of CO2. :)
Let me take a wild guess: the possible solution of using more nuclear power is either not discussed by the magazine or discussed and dismissed within one or two sentences.
Thus, the editors at sites like Little Green Footballs, Free Republic, or RedState provide few substantive instances of outright racism -- but plenty of examples of repackaged extremism. Their commenters, however, are another story altogether; as we've seen, their audiences are all too glad to revel in the underlying bigotry.
Just the usual.
“Sentences ‘Environmental Sinners’ to Hell”
Come and get me, copper.
Pulp and paper is the third largest industrial polluter to air, water, and land in both Canada and the United States, and releases well over a hundred million kg of toxic pollution each year (National Pollutant Release Inventory, 1996). Making paper also consumes vast quantities of trees.
It's always funny to listen to magazines an newspapers pontificate about issues surrounding the environment. Newspapers account for a disproportionate share of scarce landfill space. Printing and publishing use the product of one of the largest polluters in the world.
Here is a link to the extent of the pollution caused by publications like Time, Vanity Fair, NYTimes, Newsweek, etc.
If not for the requirements of Vanity Fair, "big paper" wouldn't be fouling the air, land and water of our population and the world of our children and grandchildren.
