Why should we treat him?
If he’s happy, let him be.
Because the compassionate thing to do for an insane individual is to help them back to sanity if possible.
You know, compassion, one of those things that is so sorely lacking in todays world. One of those things, like kindness and decency that brings out the worst in some and ridicule from others.
Is it beyond reason that someone who has to mutilate themselves to find peace needs help to return to balance? Or in this non-confrontational, nonjudgmental, multiculti, all embracing brave new world are we to leave the mad be just because they are embracing their individuality?
His happiness comes from self destructive tendencies, and should those destructive tendencies stop being internalized and require he start lashing out, if that makes him happy, do we leave that alone as well? Or do we try to arrest his downward spiral before he hits the bottom?
This thread has become tedious and I have no more to say on the matter.

Wasn’t it the Italians somewhere back in history that would castrate young boys prior to puberty so their voice always remained a tenor? I think they called them “Castratos.” That was the Vienna Boys Choir.
