Giuliani Puts Democrats On Defensive
Tampa Tribune ^ | April 5, 2007 | WILLIAM MARCH

Rudy Giuliani blasted Democrats on the Iraq war and emphasized his role after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, which made him a national figure, in a speech to supporters in St. Petersburg on Wednesday.

Giuliani, leading in polls in the Republican presidential primary both nationally and in Florida, was making his first public campaign appearance in the Tampa Bay area.

"You have to be on offense against terrorists," Giuliani told the crowd. "Before Sept. 11, we were playing defense."

If a Democrat wins the election, "we'll be right back playing defense because that's what the Democrats are doing," he said.

"In my knowledge of history, I can never think of a time in which a nation or an army that decided to retreat made the decision to give the schedule for that retreat to the enemy," he said.

So far as I have been able to see, the denegration is coming from the Anti-Rudy people. The Pro-Rudy people have been so polite as almost to be painful. I suppose it would be easier for y’all to be positive if you could just get a candidate on the rails and running, and I wish you luck in this endeavor. And that is not just a snotty comment, I really mean it. I’d like to win, but I do not have to have dead people at my feet to do it. And whoever wins this nomination, I will vote for him. Even if it were to be Newt. Really!

I understand what you are saying here. But it just ain’t his time this time. And I have no doubt he would have been a good president, but it ain’t gonna happen now. But he’s a good man.

That is the way True Conservatives are. They don’t have the decency to argue their points but to turn these threads into Food Fights. Kinda destroys thier Walk on Water status if you ask me. They were the same w/immigration, Bush etc.

Pray for W and Our Troops

I can see why he appeals the same liberal voters as the dems do. I for one find him offensive.

I guess he can't remember what happened in Vietnam.

"....When he left, NY was one of the safest big cities in America and was in the black for the first time within memory....."

True enough. I live about an hour out of NYC. I remember fearing for my wallet/life while walking around Manhattan in the 70's and 80's.

Today NYC is pure pleasure....it's got all the bump and go without the lurking menace. Or, at least the apparent lurking menace. I knew big change was in the works when the squeegee guys went away.

That's why we need Giuliani - he puts the Democrats on the defensive, not the other way around.

Nobody else does that for the GOP, huh?

Yeah, I wish these anti-Rudy people (What else can you call them? Does anyone have a suggestion - one that we can print here?) would get a bankable candidate. That would sort of give them something to do, give them a focal point.

Not because you do not support my candidate, but because you are, in general, unnecessarily vicious.
