I think they mean thoroughly frisked non-invasively. I doubt that body cavities are being searched.
Here is a photo of one of the DL's personal guards scan leftmost for photo, (its flash):
http://www.kagyu.org/ktd/presskit/gallery/empowerment/index.html I know how their security set up works, and I can assure you it is very thorough, and extremely aware of its surroundings.
I would be very surprised that al-Qa'ida would get to the Dalai Lama, unless a long range sniper is used, or perhaps a bomb. These two possibilities will be giving the DL's guards nightmares for sure.
Why does al-Qa'ida have a fatwa aginst the DL? If anyone knows, please post here or e-mail me privately.
The Tibetan people have been tremedously wronged, and they did not resist as a nation. This is whatt the US liberals want us to do, fold in the face of Islamofascism, like the Tibetans did for Mao Tse Dung.
We MUST not allow Pelosi and her fools to lead the USA into the same kind of mistake.
I'm kind of surprised that you would say that.
Participants in the Lhasa Uprising included Tibets little army of 3,000 men; about 10,000 Khampas who had fled to Lhasa; most of the 20,000 Buddhist monks in Lhasa; and thousands of members of the general public. The Chinese had to kill more than 87,000 people to suppress the Lhasa Uprising.
That being one small part of their resistance. It seems to me that they resisted, with well over one million dead, until it became clear that it was suicidal to keep pressing it. The DL himself said, fairly recently, that his reason for not supporting armed resistance was the futility of it.
