George Bush helping 89 year-old Senator Robert Byrd (Democrat, WV) after a little publicized ceremony honoring the Tuskeegee Airmen. I believe that little details, seemingly irrelevant and ordinarily unrecognized, are extremely informative about a man's character. The photo is self-explanatory.

If Byrd were in the GOP it would be on the front page, albeit with the caption "Bush comes to aid of former Klan leader."

Liberal Media: "George W. Bush holds hands with KKK member. Was Kayne West right?"

There is no doubt about it, President Bush is a good soul.

Wow...
If Bill Clinton did this with a Republican Senator, it would be the main story in the news for a week. Who has the media is the enemy is their tagline? Very very very dead on

While I am on the topic of the little details that tell a lot about character, I note that Bush and all the democrat candidates called John and Elizabeth Edwards to offer their support for her recovery. No calls however from Bill or Hillary Clinton.

The President is, above all things, an inspirationally decent and fundamentally humble man.
I for one still believe that CHARACTER matters in the end.
Thanks for posting this

Agreed.
I voted twice for him.
Disagree with him heartily on a number of issues.
But at his core, I still think of him as a decent fellow.
Much in the mold of his father.

The President is probably one of the most decent men to serve in the office. But how long after that photo will it take for that senile old pos to call the prez a liar etc...?

I saw an interesting bumper sticker last week. It read:

My father met the President when he received the National Medal of Technology from him. My dad said that Barbara Bush did a good job of raising him.
