His serious aviation habit means he is hardly the best person to lecture others on the environment. But John Travolta went ahead and did it anyway.
The 53-year-old actor, a passionate pilot, encouraged his fans to "do their bit" to tackle global warming.
But although he readily admitted: "I fly jets", he failed to mention he actually owns five, along with his own private runway.
Clocking up at least 30,000 flying miles in the past 12 months means he has produced an estimated 800 tons of carbon emissions – nearly 100 times the average Briton's tally.....

The carbon footprint is nothing left behind compared to the footprint Travolta leaves behind in search of men for sex.
He can afford to buy a lot of Indulgences.
Travolta's both a liberal and rich. He gets two free passes on his own behavior.

No no, they don't understand. The reason we little people have to curtail our pathetic little lifestyles and carbon footprints is so that the important people like Travolta and Al Gore can continue to enjoy their great big ones. It's why they invented offsets.

He's a Scientologist - he believes that some intergalactic tyrant sent a bunch of people in spaceships that look like DC-10s and dumped the prisoners in volcanoes here on earth, only to catch their souls in a giant soul sucker. These souls leaked out an cause all of our "aberrations" in our minds, leading to all illnesses.
OK, I understand why he believes in man-caused global warming.

The only way I would be offended was if he told me I couldn't have my own plane. We all should cut where we can. If he can afford it, more power to him.

30,000 hours in 12 months is at least an order of magnitude too high. Even 3,000 hours in 12 months is very high, but at least passes the first-order sniff test.

Driving on I-75 around Ocala, FL, if you know where to look you can see the tails of his airplanes as they are parked at his house. He was ran out a neighborhood north of Tampa because of the noise of his jets on the community runway.
