Who invented this idiotic word, "Neocon" anyway?

I consider it an insult by the left. It's a ridiculous word.

Anyone that uses it is a Leftist-Socialist-Tard. :) There, I feel much better now. Good morning all.

It had been used for a long time to identify social liberals but fiscally conservatives. But since the Iraq War, liberals have twisted the word into meaning pro-War.

It IS an insult by the left. They REALLY dislike those who used to lean left, but now lean right.

I agree and anyone that calls himself a conservative and uses that word, well they need to rethink what they really are.

A neo-conservative (abbreviated as neo-con or neocon) is part of a U.S. based political movement rooted in liberal Cold War anticommunism and a backlash to the social liberation movements of the 1960s and 1970s. These liberals drifted toward conservatism: thus they are new (neo) conservatives. They favor an aggressive unilateral U.S. foreign policy. They generally believe that elites protect democracy from mob rule. Sometimes the spelling is "neoconservative."

"Who invented this idiotic word, "Neocon" anyway?"

A far leftist who was very upset that people who formerly were confused and identified as 'liberal' (in the classic sense, not the socialist sense) were realizing that 'liberalism' had nothing to do with liberty and were turning to conservatism.

Even the wiki site has a reference to this:

"In the early 1970s, Socialist Michael Harrington prominently used the term in a manner similar to the modern meaning. He characterized neoconservatives as former leftists -- whom he derided as "socialists for Nixon" -- who had moved significantly to the right."

The intended purpose of the term is to divide us so that we lose elections.
