To: Repeal The 17th
The impression I got from the article is that they are a lot like American and European communists. That is; no one cares about them at all. They fantasize enemies to validate their existence. When these two lost American writers showed up it was probably the biggest thing to happen to them in years.

Another similarity with American commies that I found amusing was their elitist attitude shown in not inviting the driver to lunch. Made me think of Hillary saying how it occurred to her that she ought to thank the maid. (That of course said in a speech pandering to the workers.)

I don't know who killed their comrade (if there was one) but I doubt that it was Iranian intelligence agents. If the regime in Tehran really wanted to attack this group how big of a special unit would it take to wipe it out in one night?

It was indeed a strangly contrived story...
we were going to go talk to some people
but the driver misunderstood us and took us
to a different place where some other people were
and so we figured, oh what the hell,
since we're here already,
lets just write a story about these guys ...
