Anderson is a big anti-gun guy. Member of bloomberg's "mayors against illegal guns" and reportedly doesn't allow cops to carry back up guns and discourages them from carrying anything off duty.

I lived in SLC from 1996-2001 and for the life of me I have never figured out how the Democrats keep getting their mayors elected there...Utah and Idaho are are far, far, far the most Republican states in the union.

This is all a continuation of the reimaging process that Mitt Romney is creating, when the reality is that there is so much out there in the public sphere against him (from a social conservative standpoint) that as hard as he tries to paint himself as such, he comes off more and more like a hypocrite. While I think he'd make a good president, I doubt he'll take the primary. Of course, there's nothing wrong with supporting a mayor who is against illegal guns. That's common sense (I do profess to not knowing much on Anderson)
