Not really. The major argument for those opposed to a single woman using a sperm donor is that the child grows up without a father. This child is not any different in that respect.

That said, I have no problem with what she did, nor do I have any issue with single women having children via sperm donors.

This child has a FATHER and not a sperm donor. That father is deceased.

I think the objection goes way beyond a woman that is single having a child by anonymous sperm donor. Most women I know in this circumstance were too busy having fun, and not watching their biological clock. They did not want to Marry and settle down because there were so many men still out there to have yummy times with. They wanted to have that handsome prince with the Hot Car, Great job, and Beautiful Home. They kept searching and passed up many men that they had great feelings for so they could keep on searching. Fast forward, all the good men are Married or three time losers, and these gals are now unhappily in their early forties and have finally realized they are not going to find that Composite Mr. Right, and instead of ending up childless they head for the Sperm Bank, or try to take someone Else's Husband. That is what I resent, and some of them have even failed at that because they waited too long and they are no longer as fertile.
