There's a new one discovered every week now.

It's a good thing that our surroundings are real and NOT a math model. Otherwise evolution would have never happened.

You are partly correct. There happens a lot in the world mathematics and, only seldomly, the general public will get informed - and even less frequently, it will be excited (Can't remember the last time that happenend...)

Whether there is any "use" for the ideas in the "real world" is to be seen - but even if not: it's a great task and at least a brilliant work of art.
