A controversial national Islamic civil liberties organization has revived its Minnesota chapter after a series of highly publicized incidents involving Muslim taxi drivers, store clerks and airline passengers.
The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), which has 32 chapters in the United States and Canada, will open a St. Paul office this weekend, leaders said Thursday.
CAIR Minnesota's resurrection, months in the making, comes as the state's Muslim community is being scrutinized as never before.
This week, six imams (prayer leaders) who were removed from a US Airways flight in Minneapolis in November sued the airline and the Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC).
They claim they were removed because of their race and religion.
In addition, some Muslim taxi drivers who refuse to ferry alcohol and dogs are awaiting a ruling on the issue from the MAC. And some Muslim store clerks have refused to scan pork products.

The Twin Cities have lately been the epicenter of conflicts between Muslims and the rest of us.
Maybe I'm over-exaggerating here but it seems as though the battles that are being fought here may well create a bad precedent in which Muslims are able to decide who they can up for cab rides, whether they want to sell pork, etc etc.
I hope, for the sake of society at large, that they don't succeed.

If the local authorities show any accomodation or weakness before these people, look out.
I think they deliberately chose Minnesota for these showdowns.
This state is highly accommodating to PC madness. It's the perfect place to begin setting a precedent.

Sure, then the community should insist that no one but Muslims ride in their "designated" anti-doggie, pork and booze taxicabs. Shut them down and have their licenses revoked or allow non-muslims their own specified cabs. Make sure that these cabbies only pick up Muslims! Works for me....
Perhaps Minnesotans should form their own organization....

And not only that, but a FR thread started yesterday shows the new muslim tactic. The 6 imams thrown off the flight leaving Minnisota are not only suing the airlines and airport, but also all of the witnesses that complained to authorities about suspicious activity. In other words, if you see someone acting suspiciously and you call the authorities, they will sue you for discrimination. They want to silence potential witnesses with the traditional American intimidator - attack lawyer and lawsuits.
I live in California and never fly through Minn/St. Paul, but wrote a letter to the airport urging them not to allow Muslim cabdrivers to selectively discriminate against their passengers on the basis of something which is completely and totally legal under our laws. The drivers are there to provide a service; if they're unwilling to provide it, they should be out. And if they object to a sealed bottle of wine today, maybe it'll be a woman in shorts, or a Jewish person, or an African-American tomorrow. We can't allow them to continue to impose their religious intolerances on us any more than they already have - no piggy banks for children in England. Stupidest thing I ever heard.
They will show weakness, someone will cry racism, the ACLU will step in, and they will win! Remember the enemy within! We're preoccupied with the war outside while their eating at us from within! With the help of our feckless democratic FIENDS in congress,thier will be a chapter in every state in the union.

In a very short while these people will be 5 or 10% of the population, but that's all right, they're good for the economy. HAHAHA!
