The concept's good. It would be fun to see a series of commercials with actors playing pairs of candidates.

• Deep Newt vs. Shallow Hillary would be entertaining. Newt would stand on one side generating real ideas about real problems, and Hillary would generate platitudes depending on the direction of the weather vane next to her.
• Or Rudy the Leader vs. Dennis Kucinich the Peacenik
• Or Pretty-Boy John vs. Articulate Obama

Not sure Deep Newt vs. Shallow Hillary would play out as planned, tho, given Newt's feckless method of clinton-confrontation-by-curtseying. (Newt repeatedly and reflexively submits to the clintons when he is supposed to confront them, witness his current resuscitation of Shallow (and Inept) Hillary's moribund health-care credibility.)

What I think would happen, rather, is this: Deep Newt lays out the conundrum of conundrums sure to confound Shallow Hillary, but before Shallow Hillary can say, "You know, I don't think that's in the script. Is it Harry?" Deep Newt starts spouting the answer for her, (interspersing it, of course, with frequent and ignoble genuflection).
