I cannot prove or exclude a "migrant background", but I guess it's rather unlikely for Muslim "youths" to have/want dogs.

You must’ve been in a very well structured environment as a kid. I grew up fearing that “lord of the flies” was about to break out at any moment. There was only one neighborhood kid that I would even allow in our house at all. I was very relieved when my dad decided on the same rule. That way I could say “it’s not my rule, my dad says...”. I felt sorry for kids that didn’t have a dad around. My dad was a huge safety net for me.

I was in minor scuffles daily...serious fistfights about once a month...from age 8 to about age 14. Weapons were not acceptable back then though. They were a sign of weakness or poor social status. No one wanted to actually use a weapon in a real fight because of the social repercussions. "Fair fight" and all that...if you violated the code, you were doomed. Bragging about weapons was a different matter though.
