The Hubbell Standard (Hypocrite Hillary Alert and the Truth about the US Attorney Firings)
Opinion Journal.com ^ | 03/14/07

Congressional Democrats are in full cry over the news this week that the Administration's decision to fire eight U.S. Attorneys originated from--gasp--the White House. Senator Hillary Clinton joined the fun yesterday, blaming President Bush for "the politicization of our prosecutorial system." Oh, my.

As it happens, Mrs. Clinton is just the Senator to walk point on this issue of dismissing U.S. attorneys because she has direct personal experience.

As everyone once knew but has tried to forget, Mr. Hubbell was a former partner of Mrs. Clinton at the Rose Law Firm in Little Rock who later went to jail for mail fraud and tax evasion. He was also Bill and Hillary Clinton's choice as Associate Attorney General in the Justice Department when Janet Reno, his nominal superior, simultaneously fired all 93 U.S. Attorneys in March 1993. Ms. Reno--or Mr. Hubbell--gave them 10 days to move out of their offices.

--snip--

the dismissals were unprecedented

--snip--

Equally extraordinary were the politics at play in the firings. At the time, Jay Stephens, then U.S. Attorney in the District of Columbia, was investigating then Ways and Means Chairman Dan Rostenkowski, and was "within 30 days" of making a decision on an indictment.

--snip--

Also at the time, allegations concerning some of the Clintons' Whitewater dealings were coming to a head. By dismissing all 93 U.S. Attorneys at once, the Clintons conveniently cleared the decks to appoint "Friend of Bill" Paula Casey as the U.S. Attorney for Little Rock. Ms. Casey never did bring any big Whitewater indictments, and she rejected information from another FOB, David Hale, on the business practices of the Arkansas elite including Mr. Clinton. When it comes to "politicizing" Justice, in short, the Bush White House is full of amateurs compared to the Clintons.

I know this has been posted already, but with the amount of lying going on in the media about this non-scandal, this needs to be posted again and again. Go to the link above to read the entire story. It's on the Wall Street Journal's free site.

It is astonishing that Hillary Clinton would have the balls and the unmitigated gall to utter a peep on this after a far more sweeping firing of US attornies, and the White House Travel Office, in 1993, one that had far more in the way of political overtones than these.

But this is how insidious this thing is. Hillary dares speak up about this knowing full well her husband's administration did far worse, not that there was anything wrong in the Bush admin. firing only 8 US attornies based clearly on performance, and does so knowing she will be given full cover by the media. She has got to be smirking inwardly knowing what she's being allowed to get away with.

But the stomach-churning nature of this media/Democratic conspiracy doesn't stop there. The Dems. were being protected from investigations of voting irregularities by some of these US attornies, so they ran to the media and demagogues like Chuck Schumer to now turned what was a REAL SCANDAL around on the administration! It is unreal how shameless this is that these cry baby partisans have been allowed to create a scandal out of whole cloth and that Democratic politicians who didn't utter a peep about the Clinton administration's firing of ALL US attornies are now turning this into Watergate II. We are living in an Alice in Wonderland country these days.

Hillary, Schumer and the rest of the Party of Satan and their media shills have got to be whooping it up, especially now that Pinhead Sununu has jumped on their unseemly bandwagon. Spread the article above far and wide folks. We in the new media have GOT to get out the truth on this because the Democratic propaganda machine known as the mainstream media won't!

I just tell liberals that Bush should have hidden the firings among a multitude of firings and for good measure appointed his brother to the AG position. That way he could have emulated 2 anointed democrat gods.

Why oh why don't the Republicans and President Bush stand up to this assault? It's rank hypocrisy on the part of the Dems, and for another thing, I am sick and tired of these Dem harpies and girly-men constantly calling for resignations from members of the Administration every time one of them sneezes! G**dammit - fight these b*st*rds!!!!!

Big Lie theory at work in the clintonista camps.

The fact is that the DOJ has left wing lawyers much like the state department has socialist sympathizers.

Much of the DOJ is just lawyers who want a government job who think the governemnt knows all protects all from all.

One can only hope these firings have killed any chances those liberals had of becoming judges.

Hilary is a shameless Hussy,no doubt about that. She knows all about firing people. She fired the whole White House travel staff, and appointed her cronies there.

Balls??? Yeah she has them all right. Ever hear the joke about why she wears pants suits? So her balls wont show.

Amen. I was sick to my stomach listening to the president and Gonzalez admit "mistakes" which will be read by the fiends in the media and the simpletons they report to as meaning guilt. Don't admit any mistakes. Democrats are never asked nor expected to. There was no mistake in firing these 8 people. They serve at the pleasure of the administration and they need answer to no one on this. That Schumer and the media fools pretend not to get it doesn't mean any mistake was made in how it was handled. Those praddling fools would have used this no matter what. It's all about avenging the Clinton years with these Satanists.

"At the time, Jay Stephens, then U.S. Attorney in the District of Columbia, was investigating then Ways and Means Chairman Dan Rostenkowski, and was "within 30 days" of making a decision on an indictment."

It was Rostenkowski who chaired the farsical W & M Committee hearings at which klintora appeared and had hundred of "I'm sorry, I don't recall" memory lapses.

I am almost to the point of laughing.......
so far it seems that the bed wetters just open their pie holes to hear themselves talk. I have not seen them actually do anything yet. All bark and no bite...(with apologies to dogs everywhere)......maybe I'm not the only one thinking this..

"Why oh why don't the Republicans and President Bush stand up to this assault?"

I can't figure it out either. It would have been easy for Tony Snow in his presser to just say, "Clinton fired 93 attorneys and you, Helen didn't utter a peep. Please tell me why?"
