The climate change truth-deniers

On BBC Radio Four’s Today programme this morning, the Environment Secretary David Miliband, asked whether there was anything in last week’s Channel Four documentary ‘The Great Global Warming Swindle’, gave the following memorable reply :

I didn’t see the programme — but I promise you I will do a blog demolishing its contents.

This just about sums up the received wisdom on man-made global warming: conclusion first, evidence later. Miliband’s reply was of a piece with the general response by the global warmers to the C4 film’s evidence: it has either been ignored, or rubbished with some feeble arguments, or its production team has been subjected to character assassination. It is, of course, a response straight out of the Stalinist manual of propaganda and manipulation.

Don't you dare question the religious doctrines of the Luddite-Stalinists.

Advocates of the "global warming" theory already had to rename it "climate change" because reality wasn't working out the way they thought.

She's got a tough road ahead of her.

All the big UK parties are advocating additional green taxes on the "carbon" reason.

Bigger still, the EU just instituted new and additional carbon curbs with the purpose of reinflating the crashed carbon exchanges. IMO they are just reinflating a bubble that burst, and will burst again.

But the brokers got even more - The EU instituted the caps (designed to be cheated on) to go past Kyoto II in 2012 - until 2012. This gives the traders more backing to claim to investors their carbon credits have security.

I can't find one Euro major media source that even touches the real money and power behind the global warming economics. They're in a collective slumber, or maybe are familiar with bubbles like we are in the USA.

As I recall, they "co-opted" the term..

Those of us that questioned Global Warming Propaganda insisted that it was simply natural Climate Change..
They got rid of the "natural" part, and took over use of the term as part of their agenda.

Then they came up with "anthropogenic" ( shortened to anthrogenic ) Climate Change to further strengthen their claim to the terminology..

Well, it is climate change. There does appear to be some warming going on by the evidence, although nothing as drastic as the 'hockey stick' might purport.

The only problem (for them) is that it is a perfectly natural process and humans aren't going to affect it much one way or the other.

As for me, I'm from North Dakota, and I am all for Global Warming!

YMMV

Report Indicates Global Warming May Be Worse than We Think

Two new reports indicate that the global warming problem may be more widespread than heretofore thought. One report from National Geographic News asserts that temperatures on both Earth and Mars have been rising. Data from NASA’s Mars Global Surveyor and Odyssey mission in 2005 disclosed that the carbon dioxide "ice caps” near Mars’ south pole are shrinking.

The other report indicates that cosmic rays from exploded stars are decreasing. This is causing fewer clouds to form and allowing more sunlight to hit the planet, raising temperatures.

Former vice-president and internationally acclaimed climate expert, Al Gore, cited the reports as further evidence in support of drastic action aimed at cooling the planet. “It was bad enough when just the Earth was affected, but now it looks like the entire solar system may be in danger,” Gore proclaimed. “There is no time to lose. We must act before it is too late.”

Gore suggested that a “global climate czar” be appointed from among a list of persons nominated for both an Academy Award and Nobel Prize for work on climate change. “We need someone with the authority to brush aside the barriers to immediate action,” Gore said. “We can’t afford to allow a nostalgic reverence for archaic notions of property rights and individual freedom to be used to block the steps necessary to save the Earth. Everything and everyone must be strictly controlled if we want there to be a planet here for our grandchildren.”
