These Colors Don't Run caravan update
Move America Forward e-mail | 12 Mar 2007 | Move America Forward staff

We have an outstanding update from the Move America Forward staff on the road with the "These Colors Don't Run" caravan.

We're writing this at 1:25 AM from Midland, Texas, after having been escorted through Central Texas by law enforcement. The caravan followed the escort into the Monahans, Texas pro-troop rally where the city's fire trucks were lined up with their lights and sirens on. People lined the street, waving their flags. It was incredible. We've had so many unforgettable experiences where the American people have taken the time to turn out and speak out in support of our troops, our veterans and our fallen heroes.

Over 5,000 American flags have been donated to our caravan in just the first three days of the caravan - it's simply unbelievable.

Now we have one concern: we aren't sure if we've done a good enough job getting the message out for our upcoming stops. We're doing the best we can, working morning, noon and night - we wake up at 6:00 AM or so and go to bed usually around 2:00 AM... and then we spend all day on the road and conducting pro-troop rallies.

So can you all please help us make sure that our events in Dallas, Little Rock, Memphis and Atlanta are a big success? It doesn't matter where you live in the nation, please contact people who support our troops in those areas. Either contact friends or family members, or go online and look up contact information for groups that you think might help get some of their members out. Can you please help us? We've had such an amazing first four days, and we're determined to make the upcoming events even greater successes.

Complete information on our itinerary and route can be found here: http://www.MoveAmericaForward.org

Thanks. I don't know why the period got underlined/included in the link, but it did. That's why the link doesn't work. If you copy and paste (minus the period), it will get you to the referenced thread. Sorry for my Internet buffoonery.

I have been pushing the caravan to TV, radio, friends for two weeks, thinking it was coming thru north Alabama, as indicated on the map. Then I read the driving instructions....it is going thru Tennessee. Somebody screwed up and I'm NOT happy, besides having to retract all my info. that I sent out.

I am packed and I am on my way bright and early in the AM. Had to work today, but I am off for a week and a half now!

WOOOHOOOOO!!

Going to DC then Antietam. Last year, I went to DC and I stopped by Gettysburg. I stood on ground that soaked the blood of 2,500 Yankee Soldiers in one day. At the time, that was just about the same number that we lost in Iraq.

I realized at that point that our Troops were doing a heck of a lot better then the media makes it out to be.

Matter of fact, I am dang proud of each and every Soldiers, Sailor, Airman, Marine and other Coalition Forces in Iraq. They have done an outstanding job.

We went further and faster behind enemy lines and decapitated the head of the Government with the least amount of people KIA in the history of warfare. They told us we would lose 10,000 going to Baghdad. It's four years later and we have not lost half of that.

The Commies we are going to stand against have no idea what it has taken in the past to pay for Freedom. I wish to use the words of a great Democrat:

We shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe to insure the success and survival of Liberty. - John F. Kennedy

IF we do not support the friends in Iraq that we have made and the Kurds in the North, our foes will. What we are doing this weekend is right. Not Right, but virtuous. IF Americans just sit back and let the dain bread speak, then it will be the squeaky brain dead who get the grease. We need to show up in force and let it be known that there are people who stand for what we are doing in Iraq.

We should have taken care of Iraq 12 years ago when they broke our CEASE FIRE AGREEMENT (not a PEACE TREATY - this is for the dain bread). We tried 12 years and 17 Resolutions worth of Diplomacy. It was after 911 and it was time to act.

Thank God we have a President who was brave enough to act. And thank God we have the best Troops in the world. May God Bless the families of our Troops. They sacrifice a lot for our Country. They are carrying the entire load of the family while our Trooper is over there. May God Bless the Troops and the Commander and Chief.

Thanks for listening!

And I will see you there!
