SAN FRANICSCO, (AP) -- House Speaker Nancy Pelosi brushed past peace activists Monday who camped outside her home overnight to demand that Congress stop funding the war in Iraq.
The small group confronted Pelosi and asked for a meeting at about 6:30 a.m. as she hurried to a waiting vehicle without stopping to speak. "My home is my home," Pelosi curtly told the protesters before being driven away.
The activists gathered outside the speaker's Pacific Heights home were the remaining few of a group that marched Sunday across the Golden Gate Bridge to meet with the Democrat.
"San Francisco has been against this war from the very beginning," said Toby Blome, 51, a physical therapist from El Cerrito who organized the Sunday event. "This is our fifth year of the war, and Nancy needs to wake up and represent San Franciscans."
The group was stopped Sunday evening outside Pelosi's house and told the Speaker would not see them.

Pelosi now doesn't want to align herself with the wackos that elected her. Well, Nancy, why not? She must be reading the "tea leaves" and has figured out that the majority of the American people don't agree with the wackjobs that elected her.

Early MONDAY? Hmmm...I thought congress would be working 5 day weeks since she took over as speaker. 6:30 California time is 9:30 east coast time. Even with her private US TAXPAYER funded jet to fly her NON STOP back to DC, it is at least another 4-5 hours which would put her on the ground by 3 pm east coast time at the earliest. Guess the power has gone to her head and she is repeating the typical DemoRat saying 'do as I say, not as I do'. Disgusting
