This Saturday, March 17, March on the Pentagon for Peace and Impeachment

Make plans now to join hundreds of thousands of veterans, military families, and peace and impeachment activists in a nonviolent march for peace and impeachment, beginning at 12:00 at the Vietnam War Memorial (23rd Street and Constitution Ave. NW) and ending at the Pentagon.

http://www.marchonpentagon.org

At the assembly site, between 8:00 a.m. and 12:30, there will be a pre-march People's Assembly. Contingents and organizations will be providing information displays and literature tables. We will be joined by the famous Bread and Puppet Theater. There will be children's activities, including sign-making for the march, where our children can also pick up anti-war balloons. There will be a large Impeach Bush tent with impeachment materials and a place for impeachment advocates from around the country to gather.

We are encouraging every impeachment organization to register to march with the impeachment contingent, so we can publicize the groups making up the Impeachment Contingent. You can do this by clicking on this link for the contingent form and specifying "Impeachment" for the "Name of contingent."

______________

Tell the Media About the March - And BE the Media Too

We know the Corporate Media will give the least possible coverage to this march - just as they have done with every previous anti-war and impeachment event. That means it's up to us to break through the media blackout using every possible strategy to tell the American people that the majority of Americans want peace and impeachment, and we're taking to the streets in huge numbers to tell the politicians in Washington!

Call-in shows (radio and TV) are a great opportunity to reach thousands or even millions. Carolyn Kay has an excellent list of progressive shows with times and call-in numbers:

For extra credit, call a rightwing show using media provocateur Mike Stark's list:
http://www.callingallwingnuts.com/wingnut-directory/
Be sure to prepare using Mike's tips:
http://www.callingallwingnuts.com/calling-tips/
Even more wingnuts shows are listed on the Republican Party website:
http://www.gop.com/GetActive/CallTalkRadio.aspx

Progressive blogs have paid far too little attention to peace and impeachment activism, including marches. When you visit your favorite blogs, post a diary or simply comment about the importance of joining with large numbers of activists to take political action in the streets, not just blogging and hoping for change.

C-Span's Washington Journal deserves extra attention. Every day this week, between 7:00 and 10:00 a.m. ET, please phone and express your views about peace, impeachment, and the need to join the march on Saturday. In particular, at 7:30 a.m. on Monday, March 12, please phone and ask the scheduled guest if he will introduce Articles of Impeachment. The guest, Congressman Ron Paul, is the only member of Congress who has said Bush should be impeached. Yet, he has done nothing about it. Invite him to join the march!

Wonder how many dozens of hippies, peacecreeps, traitors and assorted professional protestors will show up for this "hate fest" in the District of Columbia? However few, the media will make it seem a million...

typical lefties, say one thing do another, and make no progress what so ever...... when will they ever learn, and the families that will be protesting with them, what are they doing for the memory of their fallen families.... soldiers wouldn't want that. If I fall in my duties over there, its because I'm doing my job for others, don't protest it to the government, repect my gift for my country and those that can't protect themselves.

Yeah, the DBM is probably orchestrating and encouraging this whole stupidass impeachment movement... I sure don't put it past them!

These numbnutz have had this impeachment "WAR" movement going for 5 years now, and Pelosi has said NO to this crap, how many times now?

I actually think there should be hearings so the country can see how idiotic the whole thing is. Give them what they really want "Hearings" and let them suffer the reign of hell from the electorate in '08!

Thanks for the chuckle-I can see the headlines now:

Idiots having hearings for idiots wanting something idiotic.

Sad part is, we'd have to pay for it!

This is way it's so important that we get out there in force on the 17th in D.C. We're easily going to have the largest pro-America rally in who knows how long, so let's make it big. The headline of the day can be about supporting the troops, supporting the mission, and defending our memorials, should we get out there with enough force. Say no to impeachment by being in D.C. this Saturday.
