Ahmadinejad wants to take part in the meeting of the Security Council on Iran

TEHERAN - Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad wants to attend the next meeting of the Security Council of UNO which will examine the nuclear file of Teheran, announced to Sunday the spokesman of the government.

The president thus hopes “to defend the national interests and the international laws” of the Iranian people, said Gholam Hossein Elham, quoted by the television of State on his Internet site.

The Security Council should meet, at a still unspecified date, to examine a draft Resolution on the Iranian nuclear file, whose permanent members of the Council and Germany currently discuss the contents.

Mr. Elham did not specify if the Iranian president intended to speak on this occasion.

“The president wants to be attending the meeting of the Security Council which will examine the Iranian nuclear question to defend the rights of the Iranian people to control the peaceful nuclear engineering”, it declared.

The Security Council adopted on December 23 of the sanctions limited against Iran because of his refusal to suspend his uranium enrichment in particular.

The permanent members of the Council (China, the United States, France, Great Britain, Russia) announced their intention to harden these measures to the goal to make fold Teheran.

The large countries fear that Iran can divert its civil nuclear program with fine soldiers, whereas the Islamic Republic always contradicted that such is its intention.

A little bit off topic, but here goes. . .

It seems very strange that we finally (1) committed to the surge in Baghdad, (2) forward deployed a second carrier BG, (3) moved some very sophifasted air assets into theater, (4) started point the finger at Iran, (5) had VP Cheney visit the Pakistani pres and suggest he get with the program or we will, (6) NATO decides to start the spring offensive before the Teliban could start their's and (OK, put on your tinfoil hat) all of a sudden a very top level Iranian spook comes over in what appears to be a well planned defection.

Pull all the stings and I wonder if Iran would appreciate the UN putting the halt to any "American military adventure".

I'm just a housewife, but if you would like my simple opinion, here it is.

OPINION: Ahmadinejad is a loser.
He knows it.
It's up to the Iranians to take back their country and get it back on course.

All of the events you mentioned might seem "sudden" to you, but it doesn't to me.
