Some anti-gun nut will now decry the "senseless" death of the poor robber trying to get money for his drug habit.
I hate to see anyone die - it is never to be laughed about, and the reckless taking of life should not be tolerated. However, when confronted with an armed robber, the taking of the robber's life is justifiable homocide. To display "deadly force" in the commission of a crime makes one a "free fire zone" and keeping this up (agressive armed self defense by a business) will eventually help diminish robbery. I don't mean to be flippant, but at least it removes one more criminal from society that will eventually kill an innocent person - one less criminal - less crime.
It is a fact of life that some men, and women, simply need killing. From the baby rapers to the violent strong who prey on the weak to the ruthless heads of state who wage war and force conflict on their neighbors.
