March 7, 2007 -- Astronut Lisa Nowak's romantic rival wrote of wanting to make passionate love to her spaceman crush, according to one of the saucy e-mails that allegedly led the flaky flier to strap on a diaper and drive 900 miles to attack the other woman.

"First urge will be to rip your clothes off. Throw you on the ground and love the hell out of you," said Air Force Capt. Colleen Shipman in a hot-to-trot e-mail to Discovery shuttle pilot Bill Oefelein while he was in orbit.

"But honestly, love, I want you to totally and thoroughly enjoy your hero's homecoming," Shipman wrote in another e-mail to the shuttle's charismatic commander on Dec. 21, the day before he steered the spacecraft to a landing.

Shipman should have followed her instinct and kicked this lying Don Juan to the curb. Speaking of which, Bill O. isn't exactly Lord Byron in the romantic writing department. He really, REALLY needs to work on the metaphors and imagery in his cheesy love notes.

Never, ever, give your password and key to your girlfriend. Jeeze, don't these people ever read murder mysteries?

There are pretty good reasons for the moral rules laid out in the major religions of the world. Most of them help to make sure scenes like this one don't happen.

Doesn't NASA do any psychological screening of their astronauts? I would worry about these people piloting a shuttle over my head.

It's the "Strapping on a diaper" part that has me going "huh?"

Supposedly she would not have to take potty breaks.

My question is, what kind of car was she driving to be able to drive several hundred miles without a refill of gas???

...and to think, when women were first put in with the men, I asked an ex-military (courtesy of Bill Clinton) how that was working out & was told it was fine...doesn't look so good now!

Why are Capt. Colleen Shipman's emails being circulated in the media? She's the one Lisa Nowak was trying to kill. Does she have grounds to sue?

I don't think they should have been released to the public either. It is a gratuitous breach of Shipman's privacy, and she is the crime victim. Shipman probably wishes she had never heard of Lisa and Bill at this point.

Last I heard, they were still together (Shipman and Bill). I would have dumped him, myself.

I think the email is the email that Lisa had printed up and had with her.
