Brit Hume didn't really just say that Libby was convicted of a crime that didn't exist until the investigation, did he? He can't possibly be this stupid? Can he?

The trial was about Libby lying to the FBI, lying to the Plame investigators, not the Plame leak. That is a different matter and was not part of the charges. It's one thing for Hume to be critical of the verdict, but can't he at least not be a total retard while doing it?

I am glad that this turned out the way it did. Obstruction of Justice and Perjury should not be tolerated. It isn't a partisan issue, well at least it wasn't in the 90's.

One last thing -- the legal process isn't done yet, so if there were errors you can bet that the verdict will be appealed and that the D.C. Circuit will look favorably on Libby.

What was the crime before the investigation? The entire 'investigation' was a set up because there WAS no crime.

The trial was about Libby lying to the FBI,

I believe that was the one out of five charges he was found not guilty on.

It is definitely a partisan issue here. The hypocrisy shown here in comparison to the BillyJeff perjury charges is stunning.

But all you'll hear here is people blaming everyone other than Scooter.

the entire grand jury was a perjury trap. it wasn't investigating any actual crime once the facts regarding her status (not covert) were understood.

The DUmmies have dusted off their id's and are out in full force today. Irrational rabid Bush haters-- you will all be deeply saddened when Bush pardons Libby. Must be so infuriating that the only thing you got so far from 6 years of Bush was this Libby farce.

Hume is absolutely right. First the investigation began, and then, later, Libby lied (if that's what he did). It wasn't the other way around.

You cannot say the crime preceded the investigation. It obviously didn't.
