Stone Them All

Posted on 03/03/2007 1:29:25 PM PST by BugsB51

Them Dem"s can fight. When one of their own is in trouble, watch out. The gloves come off. When Ken Starr was the special prosecutor in the Clinton investigation, Starr became the story and the villain. The Democrats with the help of a willing press investigated him. They started a media campaign to destroy him and nearly did. Remember the mantra, Four Years and Forty Million Dollars, He was accused of being obsessed with sex, he was a partisan etc. Even Hollywood jumped on board. Who Can Forget Alec Baldwin's "We would stone Henry Hide to death and we would go to their homes and kill their wives and their children" As some people are aware Ken Starr's investigation produced a lot of results including the conviction of Jim Guy Tucker and Susan And Jim McDougal. Starr was accused of misconduct. accused of having Gay's on his staff, accused of leaking grand jury information. The focus was Ken Starr.

Compare that with the treatment of Patrick Fitzgerald. No contest. Who is he? If he were conducting an investigation into Hillary instead of Libby we would know what DVD’s’ he rented over the past 10 years.

What about Sandy Berger? He pled guilty to unauthorized removal and retention of classified material. Removing them from a National Archives reading room prior to testifying before the 9/11 Commission. The documents were top secrete. His punishment? He was fined $10,000 dollars. It was so unjust that the judge did not accept that plea and raised it to $50,000 dollars. If Sandy were a Republican he would be in jail, period. We would still be reading about it and the culture of corruption by the Republicans. Scooter Libby faces far greater penalties for simply not remembering a conversation. It just bothers me so much that the Democrats get away with things that Republicans can not.

Why can't Republicans learn to fight, and throw stones?

I would say it is the Conservatives and Christians who are the ones who are victimized by the double standard. To some degree we are fighting back. Secular "progressive" forces didn't bastardize this nations traditions overnight. They wont be defeated overnight.
Groups like the Evergreen Freedom Foundation, Foundation for Individual Rights in Education, Bill O'Reilly, and many others are doing the slow work of beating back the irresponsible leftists and their continued assault on traditional Judeo-Christian American values. It will take more people willing to be vocal(even jerkish if you will) before you will see measurable change. Go out and do something that will make a difference either in your own community or on a larger scale.

The Democrats often seems to me as someone’s mentally disadvantaged stepchild. They are giving a lot of "understanding" for the wrong they do “for they know not what they do.”

In the end, the wrong they do is expected if not condoned.

It's just a question of the "willing press". If we threw rocks at Fitz, the press would just report that we were being nasty, while if they throw rocks, the press reports on why the rocks need to be larger and thrown harder. That's the way it is. We let the lefties take over the media and the foundations with all the money, and we have to either reverse that or live with it......

Ann Coulter is a false prophet. Fighting back does not mean parking oneself on FR admiring and defending her. Get involved with the people who are in it for principle, not for themselves. FIRE, EFF, and other groups are doing amazing work, but most of the conservatives are too lazy to even get involved on FR. The ones who are at least involved to the point of being on FR are too lazy to put real effort on the line and confront secular progressives in the real world.

"...Why can't Republicans learn to fight, and throw stones?'

I ask myself that question frequently - especially when the artillery from the democrat party side is especially heavy.

Sometimes we need cheerleaders like you to keep our chin up.

I don't think this is an entirely accurate analysis of the problem. It isn't just that we need to fight back, it's that we need to fight the right enemies. The Republican party (at least some elements) is slowly but surely drifting to the left. I keep seeing this blamed on the dems and the leftist MSM. What? The 'MSM' isn't exclusively owned by the leftists (unless Rush and Laura and Anne and Sean and a host of others have just switched sides). And there are certainly enough well-funded conservatives out there to increase our 'share' of the MSM.

I think certain 'moderate' elements in the Republican party are the REAL cause of our problems. I think these same elements are quite happy to see true conservatives waste time and energy fighting the left - and not necessarily in productive ways. 1) we're not going to win over lefties or even moderates with insults and bombast. Some of them are a lost cause - no sense wasting our efforts. The ones that can/might be won over with be won over with facts and reason. 2) we need to clean up our own party and stop the center-left drift. What's the point in slamming 'the swimmer' about immigration when our own party (and even president!) is behind it? Slam the dems on defense? We can't even keep our own folks in line. Gay 'marriage'? again, we couldn't get enough of our own to push it through in the first 6 years of GWB and a Repulican congress. Fiscal responsibility? wow, we've really shown how it should be done, haven't we? And I see a disturbing split even here on FR regarding 2008 - the 'win at all costs' folks versus the folks that feel we need to draw a line and keep looking for a true conservative. Respect for our military? I keep hearing 'Clinton trashed the military'. Sure he did - and what did we do in the last 6 years (specifics please) to rebuild and strengthen that military? We had six years of a Republican president and both houses of congress AND a war going on - who's responsible this time? Oh yes, must be the MSM, or maybe the dems would have threatened to filibuster any legislation supporting the enlargement and strengthening of our military. Our congressional leaders should have called them on the filibuster threat every single time.

I guess all I'm trying to say is that our efforts are better spent setting our own party back on track that in blasting away at lefties who aren't really listening and don't have any comebacks (there aren't any) anyway. We need to get our own house in order. We need to stop listening to folks in our own party who try to distract us from this task by pointing at the 'greater of two evils'. We do have a voice in the so-called 'MSM' - we have a LOT of great voices. We have a president who (sadly) occasionally needs to be reminded that conservative principles are more important than 'buying' blocs of votes (illegals). And we still have a strong presence in Congress. If the excuse during the first six years was 'we can't do this or that because the dems will filibuster' - well, let's turn that back on them.

Whew. /rant off.

Half the posters on this website are so PC-whipped I can't stand it!

They haven't got a clue about Saul Alinsky's tactics that have been so beautifully implemented by Hillary and her sycophants.

I long felt that Ken Starr was a red herring, whose purpose was not to criminally accuse Bill Clinton, just to embarrass him. That the republicans played along, perhaps because they felt that "the President should be *above* the law."

Then, when the momentum became so great because of the Clinton's endless and utter disregard for the law, committing crime after crime, Starr was forced to do something. So he picked a throw away charge that was obviously stupid, and ignored all other evidence of serious felony crime.

We all remember the huge, collective, nationwide moan when Starr announced that some trivial, unimportant, stupid and embarrassing sex nonsense was going to be THE impeachable offense. Yeah. "Perjury". Whatever. Jaywalking while committing a multiple homicide bank robbery.

Starr didn't just throw the case, he utterly ruined it. He let HUNDREDS of victims of the Clinton's greed, arrogance, and violence go without any chance of recovery against those swine.

Why? Why? WHY? The Clintons committed outright TREASON. They CORRUPTED entire branches of government that they used for their own purposes. They compiled dossiers from classified FBI files against their political enemies. They ran bank and real estate scams against the elderly, wiping out their life savings. They had arrested people who were just "in their way". Bill Clinton was a serial rapist, for god's sake!

No crime was too great. No scam too small.

America deserved that Bill Clinton should have been impeached, convicted, then tried and imprisoned along with his wife and most of his cabinet and other FOBs.

And Ken Starr spent untold months insuring that that DID NOT HAPPEN.

We kept hearing about how thorough "Judge Starr" was. How he insisted on "having an airtight case". Yada, yada. It was ALL A LIE. Starr threw the game. He betrayed us all, he betrayed the victims of the Clintons, and he betrayed his country.

Starr should be in a federal prison, too. One where he can actually read all of the voluminous information he so studiously collected at great expense and never used, because he never intended to. Years and years of reading about crimes never prosecuted because elected republicans didn't want to "shame the country" by impeaching and convicting the most corrupt man to ever hold the office of President.

Damn their "moral victory". The United States deserved better from all of them.

Ann Coulter is not a prophet. She is throwing sand with a vengeance in the eyes of those who would curtail free speech in the name of correctness. More power to her.

And if presidential candidates who make kissy face with other presidential candidates don't like being called faggot, let them own up to their actions or shut up.
