Santorum is too close to his last defeat. He's not electable but he would be a good guy to have with the campaign and he should get a senior cabinet position if they were to win.
Reports on Hunter's speech were good too. They were posted a few hours ago.
Anyone ** AT ** the even see both?
I dont necessarily buy that 'common knowledge' line about Santorum being unelectable.
Nixon lost in 1960, and then again for Calif Gov. in ?? 64' or '66.
In today's 24-hour blanket cable TV-radio coverage, in this Internet age, many of the old political adages must be thrown out and re-assessed.
I think Santorum, with a good message, has the youth, the desire, and yes the charisma to attract many a cross-over voter, as long as he connects with the right political segments and stays away from all-morality-all-the-time.
Dont get me wrong. I am an ardent believer in moral (conservative social) issues first, and all will follow.
But conservatives must also find a way to bridge the gap between those who understand a strong society, and those whom they are trying to recruit INTO that strong moral society.
