Bryan will write about this later, I’m sure, but let me tell you: I was eating dinner when Charles sent me the link to his post, and when I saw the picture I literally dropped the fork and scrambled to the phone to call MM’s husband. My hands were still shaking 15 minutes later. I know some people will read that and think I’m exaggerating to claim the mantle of victimhood on her behalf, but I swear to you I’m not. Nor did I freak out because Stark’s a Lefty! and we can’t have Lefties! that close to Michelle. I freaked out because this guy has a history of being physically aggressive to get close to conservatives he doesn’t like, as you’ll see by clicking through the series. Numbers 1 through 8, especially. Which culminated, of course, in this. Like I said to Charles, if some right-wing nut with a habit of pulling belligerent ambush stunts smiled his way into a shoulder-to-shoulder “fan” photo with Jane Hamsher or Jeralyn Merritt or some other lefty woman blogger, the nutroots would go nuclear. And I wouldn’t blame them a bit.
Bryan was right there with her, of course, so I don’t want to overstate the danger, but damage can be done very quickly depending upon the M.O. The lesson here for us is that we simply have to take better security precautions. So should the popular lefty bloggers, as there certainly are crazies on both sides. It’s tragic that that’s the price of doing business in the public square these days, but it is.
I know our commenters are going to rush to MM’s defense, but let’s not go popping off in ways that would let Stark don that victim’s mantle I mentioned earlier. Just be thankful she’s okay.
I have no clue how big a deal this should be or is. There are crazy people everywhere. But it should serve as a heads up to Mr. Malkin. I love the fact that in Paradise Lost, Adam's sin is that he failed to protect his wife, he failed to lay down his life for her sanctification.
Not that this is that similar, but I think husbands need to be protective of their wives...in a noncreepy way.
The guy has that typical smug, liberal, "I am so superior" look.
That begs the question, since death didn't enter the world until after their sin, could Adam have laid down his life for her sanctification?
I think Michelle's title describes Stark well.
I hope Michelle has a CCL. Even the nuts on his own site are calling him a nutcase stalker.

A fellow loudly interrupted one of the speakers at the Liberty Forum last weekend and launched into a heated discourse. However, he stopped promptly and walked quietly away when an openly-armed conference attendee was beckoned to the front of the room by the moderator.
Much easier than a wrestling match.
One of Mike Start's suggestions when calling local talk radio is "feel free to lie." That should be the left's tagline.

Husbands are called to love their wives as Christ loves the Church. This call follows directly the call for wives to obey their husbands, which tend to get a lot of attention, which is odd because men actually have the harder calling, but I digress. This means that they are called to sacrifice themselves, not necessarily life itself, but to give fully and completely of themselves.
Adam was called to love Eve this way, he ought to have been willing to lay down his life, to give completely of himself for her protection. It's not that he had to die, but he was supposed to protect Eve at all costs. Which makes sense when you read it because well, I didn't call her "Barbieve" for nothing when I read it for school. The gal needed all the help she could get.
