HAMPSTEAD, N.H. - Mitt Romney suggested last week that he and his fellow Republican presidential contenders would avoid the "rancor" that flared between Democrats after one of Barack Obama (news, bio, voting record)'s fundraisers questioned Hillary Rodham Clinton's honesty.
This week, with polls showing him running third, the former Massachusetts governor took sharper aim at his leading rivals, Sen. John McCain (news, bio, voting record) of Arizona and former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani.
McCain, Romney told New Hampshire voters on Thursday, was devising an immigration policy that was the "wrong course" for the nation. And Giuliani's positions on abortion, gay marriage and gun control were a losing combination in the GOP primary, he told a television audience replete with Christian conservatives.

With 81 of 92 precincts reporting, Giuliani garnered 158 votes. California Rep. Duncan Hunter was running in a close second with 152 votes and Arizona Sen. John McCain was third with 116 votes, according to county GOP officials.
All the bashing didn't help them now did it?
Mitt's a real Reagan Republican.
I don't see that from mitt, not at ALL. I dont see any "shining city on the hill" positive vibes from mitt. sorry
Rudy on the other hand has that kind of swagger and confidence that can inspire, just like Reagan did.
I will give you that Rudy has swagger and confidence.
yea... Rudy won the poll. and he didn't even show up.
Maybe the southern man is smarter than you think he is, and that the southern man understands what Rudy's position is. NY City isn't South Carolina and NY City law doesn't govern South Carolina.
After close examination of Romney's record as Governor, I came to the same conclusion (see my tagline for evidence).
Mitt is definitely the most conservative on fiscal issues. I haven't added the latest from Romney in NH to my research collection, but he's talking about some pretty amazing stuff that we haven't heard from Republicans in a loooong time.
And I think the Southern Man understand the need for a gun in any US city. You need a gun there more in the city then you do riding around in the country where I grew up.
really? not to many turkey, deer or boar in the city.. huh.
Take a closer look. He definitely has the Ronald Reagan vibe. The comparison is noted often by people at personal appearances.
In my Miscellaneous Videos collection, take a look at the video titled "On Innovation and Transformation of Government". You'll see the Reagan optimism on display.
I loved Reagan! Guilianni is not Reagan. Not in his wildest dreams. If anything, I would compare Giulianni to Bill Clinton.
So are we not to supposed to know what is different between them?
"I don't think there's anything wrong pointing out where we're different, because some people will agree with me and some will agree with somebody else," he added. "And on some issues, someone else will be more conservative than I am, but that just depends on the issue, and I'm by no means the most conservative on all issues."
