Michael Savage, one of the most vocal talk-radio opponents of "San Francisco liberals," has the best talk-radio ratings among key listener demographics in that California city.
Talk Radio Networks' "The Michael Savage Show" is tops in News/Talk with a 4.3 share among male listeners 12 and older. Savage has a 4.8 share with men aged 25 to 54, and a 5.6 share with men aged 35 to 64 in the Fall Book on his flagship station of Talk910-AM KNEW, San Francisco.
Savage's national radio audience also had substantial growth in cities such as New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston, Atlanta, Baltimore, and San Jose, Calif.
"Michael Savage continues to lead the way in San Francisco Talk Radio," says KNEW's program director, Bob Agnew. "He is so far ahead, not only in ratings but on the grasp of the issues, the rest are following his lead.
Savage, who bills himself as "an independent-minded individualist," ranked fourth on the NewsMax Magazine list of the nation's "25 Most Influential Talk-Radio Hosts," which was featured in the October 2006 issue.
pinging my favorite Wiener "fan" :)
I think that the guy is going to pop a blood vessel, the next time he rants... :)
I've been listening to Levin lately. He don't like the Savage much.
Must be time for payback from his buddy Moonbeam Brown..."you support me, I will have my friends listen to you..."
Oh man, I bet his 'publicist' is going to find Wiener a real peach to work with, much like the staff that works for him in the short time they do so.
That is because Wiener is on a Jihad against other Conservative talkers, thus the theory that he is a tool for MoveOn.org and the DUmmies.
I'm not a huge fan of Savage/Weiner, but it's nice to hear someone actually criticize Bush when he's wrong. Hannity and Beck are such suck-ups!
I listened to Savage a bit when I lived up in San Fran. It helped me survive the liberal stupidity, for which I am grateful. But now that I'm back in the "moderate" city of Los Angeles, I stopped listening to him since his rants really bring nothing intellectual to the debate and can be quite a turn-off for those who want to engage in thought-provoking conversation, not divisive mud-slinging.
I'm happy to have someone out there who isn't a cheerleader and mynah bird, regardless if I agree with him all the time.
I used to listen to him but he made me want to slit my wrists. Now I listen to Mark Levin. He has all the anger without the rage.
Savage harms the morale of conservatives and suppresses Republican voter turnout with his irrational, pyrrhic stands on random, pet issues and he frightens away moderates from the conservative cause who otherwise may have been recruited. I can't think of anyone else in talk radio today who does more to elect Democrats than Michael Savage.
But how does he REALLY make you feel? :-)
I wonder if Duncan Hunter fans tolerate Savage better than Rudy fans. I don't have any serious problems with Savage and I'm more Hunter than Rudy.
It is a striking example of contrasts when an issue comes along and you get to listen to the analysis of it from both Limbaugh and then Wiener.
Limbaugh breaks it down, piece by piece, each time nailing the issue square on the head with optimum clarity and articulation.
Wiener screams...period.
"payback from his buddy Moonbeam Brown"
You may have hit it. I always have felt that some of his rants are meant to turn off people mainly liberals who need to believe conservatives are nut-jobs.
Wiener says this all of the time to the clapping seals who are his fans. It is one of his marketing schemes designed to keep you ignorant of what the other talkers actually say.
Exactly. But like I said, it's necessary sometimes in order to survive the liberal war zone that is SF. I didn't need to scream at the liberal "useful idiots" I worked with cause Savage did it for me. :-)
I've been wondering about his staff and the way he talks to/about them on the air. I figured he must be hell to work for and this was the first thing about him I didn't like. I suppose he is just reiterating the way he was treated as a child but as a supposedly responsible adult he should just stop it.
I'd rather be friends with Levin but sometimes I just have to listen to Savage..he does put on a good show.
I wish I would have saved the Freeper's name, but he knows someone that actually worked there. It was a horrible as you could imagine.
I firmly believe Weiner is a McAuliffe plant in talk radio. I just think it's a little too convenient how easily Weiner portrays every stereotype the Libs have about conservatives...
Kinda reminds me of Dean, the screamer, when he
is ranting and raving....hey, it makes him feel good,
and all of us Savageguys get a kick out of it...Hell,
we need someone in the Oval Office with more emotion
and ranting, if he feels like it. JK
How many angels can dance on the head of a pin?
The worst thing about talk shows is the pointless callers. Savage hangs up or yells at them. Hannity just keeps talking and talking to them. Once Sean goes to the phones, I can't listen any more. I like Savage.
I don't have any serious problems with Savage and I'm more Hunter than Rudy.
Ditto
There is a daily troll thread on FreeRepublic that harbors Wiener fans like yourself. Feel free to jump in on it, for it is a very low pinging thread and usually occupied by 3 or four "Freepers" on any given day.
I disagree. I think his beliefs fall under the definition conservative. Not everyone who calls themself conservative adheres to the same philosophy.
He is the only talk-show host who talks about literature, philosophy, etc. At least he used to. I can't remember any other host talking about, say, Shakespeare.
Not enough info to answer.
What is the area of the pin?
What is the displacement of an average angel?
Are the angels the same size?
And then the next moment, he rants on how other "so-called Conservative" talkers don't talk about important issues.
To an ordinary person, he is the poster child of contradiction and bi-polar disorders.
To the fawning lemmings who are enamoured by his tough talk, he is "Savage".
I beg your pardon, I'm a Savage fan and am no clapping seal.
Hello fellow conservative and FRiend, long time no see (spar). Glad to see you're still on the Savage case. However aren't there more important issues you could be discussing?
Is supporting the minimum wage a Conservative position to you?
Supporting the minimum wage should be a huge red flag to anyone who defines Conservatism.
I mention Wiener's "clapping seals", and look who popped up?
Nice try at deflecting critism of Wiener. The story is out on Newmax today, and open for anyone to post here.
As long as Wiener infects my local radio, I will report to this community the populist/socialist crap that he spews. You should know that by now.
Savage is on hiatus today so I'm lonely. However any publicity for Savage is a good thing and appreciated. We conservatives must all stick together in these troubled times.
Well so be it. If you don't like him go listen to someone else. You surely don't think your insight is going to change the rest of us who listen to him. He doesn't run the country so he has no imput. Do a post at DU where you might find some friends.
"the rest are following his lead."
So others are espousing Conservative values whilst giving money to Jerry Brown?? Go figger...

Looks like the 3-4 Freepers have garnered quite a SAVAGE audience.
OK OK, you aren't mandated to listen to him. So go & as Savage says, "Have a nice day". End of story.
Do you Read?
Guess the people of Gay San Fran like Savage huh??????
Before he was syndicated, he was on KSFO in SF. He was so hated at the station, he had to do the show from his home in Marin. I stopped listening to him when his show became a non-stop commercial for his son, who was running for office.
No, supporting minimum wage is not conservative. I haven't heard him support that, but I haven't listened in a while. I do know that very few of our elected officials are against minimum wage. I don't know why Savage is supporting it, but I'm not going make a sweeping judgement on that. Sometimes he does seem to say certain things for effect.
Hardly a day goes by where Savage does not bash the homo-mafia agenda. I doubt the gay community in SF. or anywhere are the ones that are making Savage's ratings soar, altho they definitely 'monitor' the show hoping Savage makes a 'MSNBC' like mistake. However no such luck so far.
Yes, perhaps I can post some Wiener threads at DU on how he funds RATs, rants against other Conservatives, and supports wage confiscation schemes such as the minimum wage? Is that why you are a fan of the Wiener?
