Human Kidney Found 2 Months After Theft From 'Bodies' Exhibit in Seattle
Fox News / AP ^ | February 23, 2006

Posted on 02/23/2007 3:08:50 PM PST by Stoat

A human kidney stolen from an exhibit of preserved bodies and organs was recovered after two months, thanks to an anonymous tip, police said.

Police interviewed and released a 26-year-old Tacoma man about the case and were waiting for prosecutors to decide whether to bring charges, Officer Jeffery R. Kappel said. Police declined to say why the kidney was taken or where it had been kept.

(snip)

The kidney was part of an interactive area where visitors can touch some body parts.

Who would want to touch a Kidney.

This exhibit features human cadavers that have been "plasticized" and so they don't exactly pin the "icky" meter anymore, at least as far as how they feel when they are touched..

"The kidney was part of an interactive area where visitors can touch some body parts."

We had something like that in high school.

We called it Chickatawbut Hill.

I hate it when this happens after I've done a search prior to posting.

Possible reasons that it didn't come up in the FR search are that Fox changed the title of their article completely, it was posted in General Chat instead of News and no keywords at all were added to it.

"sigh"  oh well, at least I didn't spend a half an hour formatting the post like I sometimes do.

LMAO

A plasticized kidney might be an improvement over whatever he has left, considering the abuse that he has subjected his kidneys to.

hehe!  I don't recall an Amber Alert going out after the theft was discovered......

No photos on milk cartons either   :-)

I almost never watch TV, so I may have missed an America's :Most Wanted episode featuring this kidney.

"Fundamentals of exploratory surface anatomy" is usually one of the most wildly popular extracurricular courses  :-)

>>>We had something like that in high school. <<<

It's more fun when the body part in question is attached to lots of other body parts, an all are at 98.6 deg.
