"I'd advise my daughter or anyone else not to have an abortion," Giuliani said Count me out as a Rudy supporter. He flat out lied - Years ago he said he'd pay to have his daughter to get an abortion.
I was hoping Rudy would denounce his past statements on abortion or at least somehow move to the right on the issue. He hasn't.
I cannot support Rudy anymore. I urge other Rudy supporters to do the same.
You guys were right all along.

I agree. It would be better for Rudy to acknowledge his past instead of pretend the past didn't exist.
I hope you don't catch too much fire directed from your formerly-occupied position.

EEE, we've crossed swords before, but I've always respected you as a thougthful and spirited poster. If you're serious about this, I respect you even more now.

It takes a big man to admit he was wrong, hoping that his candidate really did agree with him. I think we'll see more people jumping off the Rudy bandwagon on this issue. He really is exactly what he always said he was. And that is a social liberal, exactly the same as the Dims are.

Thanks guys. It was a tough decision because I've always advocated that fiscal and national security conservatism was more important than the social issues. But Rudy is openly pro-abortion here and his statement contradicts what he said in the past. So how can we trust him overall the other issues then?

Count me out as a Rudy supporter. He flat out lied - Years ago he said he'd pay to have his daughter to get an abortion.
Did he? In 1989, he told Phil Donahue the exact same thing he said today, that he would advise his daughter not to have an abortion.
I do that in spite of my own personal reservations. I have a daughter now; if a close relative or a daughter were pregnant, I would give my personal advice, my religious and moral views ...
DONAHUE: Which would be to continue the pregnancy.
GIULIANI: Which would be that I would help her with taking care of the baby. But if the ultimate choice of the woman - my daughter or any other woman - would be that in this particular circumstance [if she had] to have an abortion, I'd support that. I'd give my daughter the money for it.
But I respect your choice. I see that you care strongly about this issue.

Hi EEE, anyone who has Chesty in their tag line has a core.
I too am more concerned about national and world affairs but on the domestic side, the abortion issue is a core one.
Thank you for making your decision
