To: Constitution Day
I am not making my daughter wear bonnets and ankle-length dresses.

LOL! I would, but my mother would drive me crazy over it. (The girls had better hope OldTax-lady lasts until they leave home :-).

But seriously, I agree with you 100%. Elementary-school girls are walking around (in this weather, too!) in what looks like street-walker outfits.

My husband bought our girls some shorts at Target last spring, and didn't realize until they put them on that they showed *everything*. We'll have to try on every single piece of clothing in advance this year. I don't know where we'll find ordinary shorts for the girls; the ones I get at J.C. Penney don't come in children's sizes.

They might be a tad more expensive, but check out Lands End. I bought clothes for our daughter there, when she was younger. When she got older, I added Eddie Bauer to the mix. Nice clothes; cute AND modest!
