Somewhat related..FYI..Kiran Chetry's FIRST job, after being fired by Fox and hired by CNN, was subbing for Cooper..
The way I figure it, the reason that CNN is so ga-ga about Anderson Cooper is because he will sleep with anyone, anywhere, and utterly without shame. And the only thing he asks in return is that they tell everyone how wonderful he is.
Since the networks equate amorality with goodness, always seem to be on the lookout for the ultimately amoral person, and even promote based on moral turpitude, this would explain Anderson Cooper.
In his case, they fawn over him so much that some network executive must have stumbled into Cooper's office to find him dressed in lederhosen, tutu, scuba flippers, a clown mask, and doing lines of cocaine with several naked 10-year-old children, one of whom he had just pushed out the window because he wanted to see what would happen.
It certainly wouldn't be based on anything he's done on TV.
