Lambert will be giving the children doses of a good fatty acids to see if they have any noticeable effect on the children's cognitive, social and behavioral states. The study will use a control group of similar students. >>

omega-3 fatty acids, Fish oil, epa/dha to the rescue.  Let's hope it works. Since mercury is such a great preservative, maybe they should add thimerosal to the mixture so the fatty acids won't become rancid?

Yup. Fatty acids and brain development/health.

Breast milk is positively loaded with dha. And the estimates I've heard are that a newborns brain is something like 60 percent fatty acids, and HALF OF THAT dha. So at birth, about a third of your brain is the equivalent of fish oil!

These compounds are essential for the compositions of the cell membranes and the nerve cell myelin sheaths in particular. Without good membranes, nerve cells will either not work or will short out.
