HotAir has a must see video of Rudy Giuliani talking about the senselessness of non-binding resolutions and what's wrong with Washington from the Mayor's appearance on Lary King Live. In case you haven't seen him make this case in the last few days, this is must see viewing:

Transcript:
GIULIANI: I mean, you can look at the practical and common sense conclusion on that anyway you want. But there's something more important than that. We have a right of free speech in this country and we elect people to make decisions. Here's what I would prefer to see them do, though, if you ask me what's my view on that. The nonbinding resolution thing gets me more than are you for it or against it. I have tremendous respect for the people who feel that we either made a mistake going to war, who voted against the war, who now have come to the conclusion, changed their minds, they have every right to that, that it's wrong, you should, in a dynamic situation, keep questioning. What I don't like is the idea of a nonbinding resolution.
KING: Because?
GIULIANI: Because there's no decision.
KING: But it's a statement.
GIULIANI: Yes, but that's what you do. That's what Tim Russert does and that's what Rush Limbaugh does. That's what you guys do, you make comments. We pay them to make decisions, not just to make comments. We pay them to decide. The United States Congress does declarations, the war
KING: So if you feel that way, withhold funds and that's the way you feel?
GIULIANI: The ones I think have a better understanding of what their responsibility is and are willing to take a risk are the ones who are saying we've got to hold back the funds, we've got to vote against the war or we're for the war. And maybe it's because I ran a government and I tend to be a decisive person. I like decisions. And I think one of the things wrong with Washington is they don't want to make tough decisions anymore. Nonbinding resolution about Iraq, no decision on immigration, no decision on Social Security reform, no decision on what to do about energy independence, no decision. You know why that happens? Because it's unpopular.
He seemed to be a bit unsure if he would support him, and then switched suddenly, as if he had gotten a memo.
A recent poll indicated that only two thirds of Americans would consider voting for a Mormon, but only slightly better than half would consider voting for a man in his third marriage.
Here is an excerpt from Wikipedia:
Wilson narrowly won the election, defeating Republican candidate Charles Evans Hughes. As governor of New York from 1907-1910, Hughes had a progressive record strikingly similar to Wilson's as governor of New Jersey. However, Hughes had to try to hold together a coalition of conservative Taft supporters and progressive Roosevelt partisans and so his campaign never seemed to take a definite form. Wilson ran on his record and ignored Hughes, reserving his attacks for Roosevelt. When asked why he did not attack Hughes directly, Wilson told a friend to Never murder a man who is committing suicide.
The final result was exceptionally close and the result was in doubt for several days. The vote came down to several close states. Wilson won California by 3,773 votes out of almost a million votes cast and New Hampshire by 54 votes. Hughes won Minnesota by 393 votes out of over 358,000. In the final count, Wilson had 277 electoral votes vs. Hughes 254. Wilson was able to win reelection in 1916 by picking up many votes that had gone to Teddy Roosevelt or Eugene V. Debs in 1912.
I've pledged here several times already to cast an anti-Hillary vote next year, regardless of who we nominate. The level of support will be measured more by my level of hate for Hillary than love for guys like Rudy or McCain.
Thank you. Get the word out that the Democrats have a new resolution. It is HR508, Bring The Troops Home/Iraqi Sovereignty Act sponsored by Rep. Woolsey (a Leftist from Northern California). The resolution calls for the withdrawal within 6 monthes including contractors. We will give the Iraqis aid. She included a Veterans entitlement program that would ensure all returning vets health care. This last part sounds really nice, doesn't it? Until you realize that she is using the vets as a pawn.
People need to take action NOW! They need to write, fax, call these people repeatedly as well as the representatives and senators from their state, but not limited to them. Action not silence MUST be the order of the day. It is no longer acceptable to merely write checks. Woolsey, Kucinich, and a few other of OUR elected officials will stand with ANSWER on March 17th to protest the war in Iraq along side of Cindy Sheehan, Ed Asner, and the rest. Make your voice heard in the town near you! Counter the ANSWER protest! They are already worried about the turnout of patriots in DC. Let's really turnout across the country and show our support for the Eagles that will be countering them there, and in so doing show the troops we care!
I see my post 170 has been deleted - it was an honest explanation of my assessment of the Guiliani candidacy in answer to a direct question from another poster as to what I liked about Rudy. It was not contentious in any way. Since such innocent political commentary is not welcome here, I bid you all God's speed.
I can't believe a post of yours has been deleted.
I did not see your post, but I will say this: I have been reading your replies the last day or so, and they were dead on point and courteous; I cannot imagine that whatever you said today needed to be deleted.
Don't leave; this forum needs more reasoned posters like you, not less.
And, as I'm sure you'll agree, I say this as a person who doesn't get along with you.
Please don't leave!
Yours are among the most reasoned posts on this site!
If you look at the posts repsonding to post 170 you can tell that it was not contentious.
What happened!
Please don't leave. They're trying to create an echo chamber here and the common sense conservatives don't want that.
Ronald Reagan's son today came out with an article about Republicans dropping their litmus tests; he's right and we need people like you to help discuss that point.
Regards, Ivan
Wilson was born in Georgia.
Your comments on the non-binding resolution are correct, and show that you are a person in whom we can trust to be true to your convictions.
There are seventeen (alleged) Republicans in the House that do not deserve to so much as stand in your shadow.
Well done, sir!
.
Thanks for those comments! What you have said is absolutely correct!
Don't hold your breath. Rudy is a liberal at heart and for him to announce he's a conservative (and we all know he's not) will make an even bigger mockery of the GOP than it is now.
Thanks so much for your friendly words! My post #170 - which as you can see was totally innocuous - has been restored.
