Israel warned its citizens Tuesday against visiting Iraq, citing the danger to their lives and reminding them that travel to Iraq is a criminal offense under Israeli law.
Israel Radio said dozens of Israeli businessmen have recently traveled to Iraq, despite the raging warfare there.
Under Israeli law, citizens are forbidden to visit Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia or Yemen, all of which are technically at war with the Jewish state. Egypt and Jordan are the only Arab states to have signed formal peace treaties with Israel.
In a statement Tuesday, the Israeli National Security Council said that "in light of the increasing number of Israelis visiting Iraq and given the severity of the threats to them there, the National Security Council wishes to remind the Israeli public ... that visiting Iraq is very dangerous."
"The lives of Israelis in Iraq are at tangible risk," it said.

They could always visit that resort in Egypt...you know... the one that keeps getting bombed....
Technically, US citizens are also not allowed into Iraq without special permission from the State Department.
I consider that stupid.
If an idiot wants to go to Iraq like Tom Fox for Christian Peace Makers. Then it is their fault.
It is because the idiots who are in the middle level bureaucracy of State (90% were put there during Clinton) will give access to these political (peace) groups.
