Treason charges are rare, as we even wimped out and didn't charge Lindh with treason. We just recently got our only treason indictment in over 50 years, an American-born Al Qaeda collaborator and spokesman. Maybe there'll be more.
That's because nowadays, most people stupidly believe that the First Amendment protects such behavior. According to them, the First Amendment allows the media to release troop movements and battle plans, allows people like Hanoi Jane to go over to the enemy and make propaganda tapes against our soldiers, and allows anti-American scum to cheer for the enemy.
We're probably long past the point of no return with treason.
