LONDON (AFP) - The British government is to investigate a school funded by Saudi Arabia's government involved in a row over textbooks allegedly describing Jews as "monkeys" and Christians as "pigs", the Times has reported.
The King Fahad Academy in west London has already said it will remove the disputed chapters from the books in question, which it said were used as "secondary sources".
It claims the controversy arose from a misinterpretation of the Koran-based material and stresses it does not teach hatred.
But schools minister Jim Knight has said he wants reassurance that the school is complying with requirements to promote tolerance and diversity, the paper said.
"It would be completely unacceptable for any school to have material which makes the sort of inflammatory assertions that are being alleged," he reportedly said.
"I have therefore asked the department to make enquiries in relation to the recent allegations surrounding the King Fahad Academy."
On Friday, the government said it had ordered the closure of the Jameah Islameah School in Sussex, south-east England, an independent Islamic school raided by police during an anti-terror operation last year.
The school had failed to carry out all recommendations contained in an improvement plan, the education ministry said.

Hmmm. No matter how many jihadists the Brits let in, it will never be as bad as Americans letting Hillary Clinton into the White House again. It would take about a billion Osama bin Ladens to equal one of her.
