They were holding peace negotiations that have been going on for awhile. It's unclear if they were kidnapped by a smaller group or just stayed overnight.
linkthey have been negotiating for awhile, and the main MILF group helped them with the capture of the more rabid Abu Sayyaf.
Also today, the Phil police raided a safehouse near manila and killed one; they found bomb making material.
