IMMIGRANTS may have to wait a year to get a taxi licence after police revealed that almost all of the suspects in 24 reported driver sex assaults since June were newcomers to Australia.
The Taxi Council of SA also wants to educate immigrant applicants about "the Australian way of life" before they get behind the wheel, amid fears that cultural differences are linked to the problem.

Perhaps all Muslim cab drivers should be required to have their favorite goat with them at all times -- to "relieve" themselves when aroused by the sight of women who go out in public without a shroud hiding their fat asses..

Pity no one is allowed to carry a handgun in Australia... Really - I wonder what this thing I've been carrying for the last year and a half is? It certainly looks like a handgun.

Does the average housewife have the same privileges you have ?

If she wants to get a licence, sure.
I have a normal licence to carry a handgun. No special privileges. For a few years, I was carrying one on a special permit I got because of my membership of the ADF, but I decided to get a civil licence a couple of years ago now.

Then I beg your pardon. Information here is that guns were rounded up Down Under.

Can an ordinary citizen of Australia, not associated with the military or police, buy and keep a handgun at home ? Are permits available to anyone ?
