That was Jane Fonda’s explanation for coming out of her supposed protest retirement and joining the anti-war radicals who converged on the nation’s capital last weekend.
Fonda’s conscience had apparently been tormenting her about the U.S. trying to save Iraq from radical Islam -- and so she could stay quiet no longer. In her speech to the anti-war crowd, Fonda championed American defeat in Iraq and compared the war to Vietnam, condemning what she called America’s “blindness to realities on the ground.”
Fonda, of course, exhibited tremendous perception of “realities on the ground” three and a half decades ago, in July 1972, when she traveled to Hanoi with Tom Hayden and other fellow travelers to offer her hand in solidarity to the North Vietnamese. [1] That’s the infamous trip during which she posed on a North Vietnamese anti-aircraft gun used to shoot down U.S. planes and announced to the world that American POWs were living in the lap of luxury -- when it was clear that they were being barbarically tortured by their captors. I use to be an Atlanta Braves fan, until Lithium man, Ted Turner, married Hanoi Jane. I just couldn't take it when the televised games'camera panned on Hanoi Jane doing the Braves' signature tomahawk chop.
In one way it may be good that she's doing this crap. There are just tons of file photos of her with various prominent Democrats ripe for re-issue as needed and she's showing the world that she's still the same crazy treasonous whore she was back then while she was helping to insure both the political failure of our efforts in Southeast Asia and the murder and imprisonment of millions.
Her daddy's aloofness drove her crazy or so she said.

No, you have to join my Fonda boycott which has been 100% air tight for nearly 40 years. Not a single penny of my money has ever gone to that Commie bitch.
Ever since her infamous visit to Hanoi, Jane Fonda has maintained the fiction that she was just "trying to stop the war." But she didn't go to North Vietnam to try to bring about peace, or to reconcile the two warring sides, or to stop American boys from being killed — she went there as an active show of support for the North Vietnamese cause. She lauded the North Vietnamese military, she denounced American soldiers as "war criminals" and urged them to stop fighting, she lobbied to cut off all American economic aid to the South Vietnamese government...she publicly thanked the Soviets for providing assistance to the North Vietnamese, and she branded tortured American POWs as liars possessed of overactive imaginations
The mere mention of Hanoi Jane's name gets the blood boining in this vet who served during the Vietnam War.

How can a person knowing what she helped to to do to these POW's ever show her face in public again. How could she stand as nothing had happened. She makes me so sick I want to puke. She should be tried and treated as a traitor.

That was Janeene Garafolo (sp). I'm pretty sure it was on Fox and Friends. If President Bush was a Democrat these protest wouldn't be happening because it wouldn't be "hip" for the limo liberals to do it.
Klinton was bombing Christians, the likes of Hanoi Jane are perfectly fine with that.

Here are a couple of excerpts from her profile: She became an anti-war activist, then worked for almost any leftist cause, including desegregation, women's rights, and environmental issues, until eventually she was known as much for her political stands as for her films. She visited Alcatraz during its siege by Native Americans in 1969, and thought Rev. Jim Jones was doing good work. She supported Huey Newton's campaign for Congress, and said the Black Panthers were "our revolutionary vanguard. We must support them with love, money, propaganda and risk". During the Vietnam war, Fonda toured America with her Klute co-star and real-life lover Donald Sutherland, staging a "guerilla theater" piece called FTA (for "Fxxx the Army" or, when speaking with mainstream reporters, "Free the Army"). "If you understood what communism was", she said, "you would hope, you would pray on your knees that we would someday become communist".
Fonda has never apologized for her opposition to the Vietnam war, and she says she never will. She still asks why the US killed millions of Vietnamese people, and what more than 50,000 American soldiers died for. She has, however, apologized for those famous photos. "I will go to my grave", Fonda has said, "regretting the photograph of me in an anti-aircraft gun, which looks like I was trying to shoot at American planes. It hurt so many soldiers. It galvanized such hostility. It was the most horrible thing I could possibly have done. It was just thoughtless".
It's obvious from the first paragraph Jane Fonda lacks good sense or judgment! The woman has no respect for decency or truth IMO. Could she be the epitome of "a leopard never changes its' spots"?
It's been reported she said at the time something to the effect of "I just wish one of those Yankee imperial dog warmongers would fly over so I could shoot at them".
She looked like she was trying to shoot at American planes because she was trying to shoot at American planes.

I boycott her BS autobiography by hiding it whenever I come across it at the store. I've hidden all the copies at the Hastings in my city and the public library. Hanoi Jane ain't spreading her BS as long as I live and breath (She better pray she and I never meet face to face).

If this son of one of the Vietnam Vets she calls war criminals ever meets her face to face, that'll be the least of her worries.
I hear you. I lost a few cousins in that war and saw my older sister lose friends. I don't understand why we give people like her or Kerry the time of day. The other person I truly hate is John Murtha. I am getting a list of people it seems and I truly try not to hate ....I won't be able to go to the Wall in person but I will be praying for all those who are. It really is time to do something about the people who stab the USA in the back . I believe if you don't love America then leave it. Personally theres quite a few I would boot the hell out. ~P~
