Thanks! I admit I just took him at face value based on his position as a priest. Oops!
Ill let God judge him and I certainly won't try to intervene in his favor.
Thanks to thousands of low-lives like him, more Americans than neccessary were killed in Viet Nam and we lost the war.
Sorry. Guess I'm just not a good Christian.
Everyone did. It was a real joy when the Pope forced him out of politics.
1 Corinthians 6
1 Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unjust, and not before the saints?
2 Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?
3 Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?
4 If then ye have judgments of things pertaining to this life, set them to judge who are least esteemed in the church.
Drinan was a sorry priest and an ego maniac.
Are you telling us that the clergy in your denomination are perfect examples of Christ's teaching? Not even the apostles achieved that standard.
If you left the Catholic Church because there were some "bad men" or clergy out of the 1 billion members, then your faith must have been VERY weak, my friend.
One of my fondly remembered memories of Catholic grammar school was the "silent reading" tests administered by the nuns. These days they'd be called "reading comprehension" tests. Whatever they're called I did extremely well on those little tests and, based on your asinine comment, I suspect you did poorly.
My comment in it's entirety ("Another reason not to regret my status as an ex-Catholic") said nothing about my reasons for leaving that church and nothing about my current affiliation with any other denomination and nothing about my attitude toward religion in general.
Wow, first Ivins. Now this guy. No further comment.
"Another reason not to regret my status as an ex-Catholic."
Aculeus,
Drinan wasn't Catholic. He was a liar and an accessory to murder. The world has been relieved of a heretic and the world will forget him as soon as the funeral is over. However, Catholics wish hell upon no one and, because God is outside of time, we pray that Drinan repented before he died.

BTW, Michael Moore is an ex-seminarian and I understand he attends Mass frequently, not just on the required days.
In other words, he was ardently in favor of both, especially abortion.
