ACAPULCO, Mexico -- An anti-crime campaigner who was helping promote a march against a wave of violence in this Pacific coast resort city was wounded by gunmen Tuesday, police said.
Patricia Calixto, 33, was in stable condition at a local hospital with wounds to her abdomen, hand and head, hospital officials said.
Calixto had just returned to her car, which carried signs promoting the Feb. 18 anti-violence march, after exercising at a local beach when unidentified gunment shot her and fled, Guerrero State police officials said.
