I don't trust these characters. They could actually start to back up their idle pronouncments with action and cut back military expenditures for the next go around, that deal with Iraq. In short, force us to withdraw big time.
I don't put it past them at this point. There had start to be some visible signs on the other side (both parties in support of what must be finished in Iraq) to offset this swelling.
Things can get out of hand. I do hope all we are seeing is the mostly usual cadre of goon balls pissing and moaning, and that the majority of both sides of the house have no plans on allowing some binding resolution to take place to force the POTUS's hand on the Iraq. Likewise, a house divided will only embolden the Iranians to continue their brazen position, with no fear of any ramifications. It is bad enough at this point that we have the whole of Europe against us on most things dealing with Iraq and Iran.
Meanwhile, the Russians and Chicoms sit back and watch in mostly silence.
At any rate. I gotta hit the rack. Do have a great upcoming day.

Yes, it sure is. The future of the world and the quality of that world depends on Iranian military being destroyed so that it can no longer expand its Islamo/Nazi hegemony. Iran's rulers deny freedom to their people and seek to expand that model throughout the Middle East. In addition, Iran works with North Korea to develop intercontinental ballistic missiles. This is a no brainer. Maybe even the Democrats will wake up. The fates of Israel, Lebanon, and Iraq are being challenged by Iran with the potential of destruction should Iran go nuclear for Israel. It's time for the partisan hate to stop in America.

Or, we could just send captured AK-47s to the Iranian Student & Labor Movements.

Much more hands-off, antiseptic, indigenous, credible, and post facto stable.

"And members of Congress don't want us to go after Iran>"

They're making noises because they know what's on the way. See post #25.

This all....is turning into a fourteen way circle jerk...Senators saying don't attack iran...being told by ex-Administration Lawyers that they can stop the war....articles saying the troops aren't getting enough Armor...I'm getting tired....

Oh, it's the Times all right. They couldn't resist sticking this one in:

The focus on Iran could be seen as convenient from the point of view of the Bush administration...

"Could be seen"? By whom? This is not an attributed quotation, a sourced comment - it's pure journalistic bias.

This particular raid sent a message. Time we sent a reply.

It seems like the administration is putting more and more of these types of stories out there about Iran. Are they slowly trying to get the public prepared for what (I hope) might be coming?

I think this might be the strategery. Americans will not take our troops being killed by Iranians. I pray that W speaks to the people directly. We need to get behind him now because we know that Congress is divided and the moonbats will say we deserved it being there in Iraq in the first place. Just my non-military two cents.

Gee whiz, Isn't that a violation of Geneva Convention Protocols to wear the uniform of the enemy. The executing four military captives? I don't hear or read in the MSM any cries of foul. Nor do I hear the cry to have the terrorists find and try the perpetrators who did this. God forbid an American team had countered this with and similar raid in Iran. Could you hear the yells and whines from the left now.

"Maybe one day we will fight back."

Never gonna happen. Israel will have to do it for us. Washington doesn't have the stomach for it.

Most on this board have it all wrong, we have to surrender, it's the only way! Then we will have peace and can get on with the important things, such as: same sex marriage, legalized dope, global cooling, freebies for everyone, open borders and of course disbanding the military.
